The AFK Bard Macro

retracting my post on tenebrous mountains its decent zone but somethin in there messes with your spells and songs you heal instead of run lev instead of dd its bad to afk kite in still looking for a spot 40 to 45 or 50 gunna check again on poachers the last time i check the xp was not that good
 
I've been at poachers doing this (while I wait for new offsets, hint, hint), and I noticed that sometimes the macro goes into a loop that says no target selected even though I have a poacher targetted. Any fix for this? I've had it happen twice in 2 hours. Thanks.
 
i'd say wait till new offset its dangerous to run right now but thats a result of the offset but i'll look into it when i get mine back up

when do the poachers become less then good xp?

cause i was gunna try dulak harbor
 
I moved from poachers to dulak at 50...worked fine..at 55 I moved on to nadox and did the fire near safe spot...you can set your circle to 120 range and work out a good area to begin so that you get just about every mob in that area or else you'll end up not having a target every now and then.

You can do that to 60 or probably even 62...but at 58 I moved to the northernmost incubator room that has a big middle area between two furnace lookin things. I set my circle range to 90 and have gotten very good exp there since most of the mobs around there are lvl 54 or 55. Every now and then a luggald abomination will come around which is lvl 58. Ive been doing this several nights with no problems.

At 62, I will be moving to hoh.
 
Nice info Darkeros. I will look into that once I hit the right levels. Almost got 46 by watching basketball on ESPN. Can't beat that. :D

I have tried in pov in several different spots. I had my 70 paladin follow me around ressing, if that tells you anything.

I tried doing it in the caves and somehow died. I don't know what happened cause it was working for about 45 minutes and about 10 minutes later I came back to check and I had died. Wasn't summoned or anything, just died.

I have not tried it in the inner cave area where the sleep walker spawns, but wouldn't do it there because of the fact that the sleep walker can and will spawn and summon/kill you.

After that, I tried to do an area with undead. After about an hour or so there, a named popped and summoned/killed me. The spot I was doing was near the caves, right on the beach.

I didn't try any other areas, but I would assume the courtyard could be done rather easily...I don't think any of those mobs summon. However, that area is more popular on all servers than the cave area and you'd risk getting seen there.

To add, I did try to use this in ponightmare on the stalkers and there are so many dips there that you will, more often than not, get the "cannot see target" message.

Podisease seemed like a waste of time because you can kill mobs in nadox much easier and faster for what seems to be much better xp.

Too many summoning mobs spawn at random places and walk around in random areas in postorms to be able to afk macro there.

I'm not sure about plane of tactics...I used to solo there on my necro but I don't remember any of the areas that do/dont summon. Most of the diaku don't.

Pojustice would be a waste.

Poair = impossible.

Powater = impossible.

Pofire = doable in many areas, including rugs/tables.

Poearth = impossible.

Crypt of Decay...I don't think there are any areas there that doing this afk would get you good xp.

Bastion of Storms = Impossible.

Innovation = waste.

PoTorment, I don't think anything good could be done there.

I've never been to hohb.

It seems like hoha and vxed will be your best bet unless you have pofire access. There are lots of areas to kite in pofire, and you don't get kicked out every 6 hours.

I have a small tip I have learned in my short time. If your tired of losing selo's due to that damned bug you could use /twist 2 3 4 2 5 4. I think that will be my standard.
edit: though of even a better twist!
 
I am going to try the expeditions in DS. Its a indoor zone so will be no Selo but with run 4 (soon run 5) that really isn't to big of deal. Not a whole of mobs close together and respawn isn't to bad. I will probably clear the area I am going to use then set up circle and see how it works. This way spawns will be broken up bit better, helps in case a stun lands and you only have 1 mob whack ya.
I had this running in PoFire tonight for about an hour in the unpopulated area (to left of ZI). NP's at all but at 66 wasn't the best exp Duo with my 70 Druid, about 1%aa a kill on the druid, not sure on bard had it on 50/50 split. I am sure at Tables would be great but way to peeps in forts and tables on my server.
Haven't tried Vxed yet. Anybody try places like NC or Furbi or RCoD etc.. maybe to popualted not sure really, NC has so many nooks and crannies might be a few good spots with-out casters. RcoD kinda busy and lots of casters, Furbi no clue honestly.

Because of the bard nurf in their AE Songs.. is it still working the way it was? how does that work, :confused: thanks in advanced.
 
Still works. I've gone from 45-50 since yesterday 6pm. Minus some time off. You don't use AE spells. Use spells that are DD and DoT with range. For more info read the very first post from Redbot. Very important stuff on first page.
 
A few questions if someone can answer please. How do you end the /mac target? Also, isn't Nadox an indoor zone? How does this work there? As in, how do we keep mobs away from us. Thanks!

To stop the macro, type
/end

Nadox is indeed indoor, but run3 will keep you ahead of the mobs just fine. Get run3 first, then focus on AA's that will increase chant-kiting damage.

Your not playing your AE songs. Your playing targetable DoT songs that have a range of 200. Refer to the first post for what songs to play. You are killing 1 at a time.

does not matter i have 2 one on each of my 2 accounts and one is half elf and the other vah shir so equipment is the only thing that matter

hint* use a drum it does more damage and you run faster when outdoors

also recommend readin rest of posts in forum lots of hints on where to hunt other macro's to help you out and such and I have tons of macros that i do not use just so i can have the cod eto make my own
 
Ok, now I'm having some trouble with this. Anytime, I target something that I can't see the macro will not change targets. This means I am stuck on that one guy I can't target for eternity. Anyone know how to fix it so it will attempt to retarget?
 
mine changes targets when that happens....dunno what your problem would be

I have used this a few times now and it works great thanks again Zed. However im not getting the targeting to work and i have checked it 3 times now is it broke atm?

Ok I tried The DS expedition, was the Draniks hollow firepit one, not sure but is only one I have ever gotten. Got set up fine start kiting had about 3 going rather well hp's on par with maybe a PoF fort 1 mob I would guess. Kill first one np and to my surprise pretty damn good exp (mobs were all 66). Thinking awesome will have to make this my new home..... Kill another....great exp for the ease of it. Repops are maybe 15 minutes ish not sure but had a repop before 3rd or 4th died, not sure, And this is when I figured out this ain;t gonna work.. the bastard cast one of those snare dots on me. Needless to say I was dead about the time I even seen the DoT land. I am gonna explore the zone a bit more and see if maybe there is a area with static non caster mobs. If anybody knows if they are random pops in any spot feel free to PM me. Would be nice to have a instance zone where all the mobs give descent exp to a 70 also.
Had a question, I know the mdocrack (not sure of name never used) has a run plug in it.... If using that in indoor zone (like instance) A. when cast on would ya slow down or keep pluggin along and B. if using in a instance zone any way a GM can figure this out (short of actually watching you)?

On a side note still haven't done Vxd...havem't hooked up warp yet. I can confirm this macro works like a charm. Be careful getting to casual with it tho.. I am sure if peeps watch you kite at Tables for any length of time there will complaining. Keep it to low visiability spots and should be fine.

Well.. which macros do you run (is there a different one for target switching after mob is dead?) if so i didnt plugin that one yet, whats it called? :eek:

I used this successfully in vxed for a while to test it out. It works there, just to post a confirm.

I am going to be finding more locations to use this, such as kod taz....that do not shut down in 6 hours. I'll let you know when I find them. I know you have to have a flag for kodtaz, so to help you guys out I'll look for non-flag zones first.
 
Hmm... My target.mac still wont open. just tells me could not open (directory:of target.mac)
Any ideas?

btw, how do i keep things from running away at low health? (add snare in the twist or what?)

it usually works out good but i do not have amplify ( should get i guess would help but i do use drum)

i have been tryin poachers but i keep gettin peeps comin around on my server so i'm off to the side just kitin random mobs atm but i found the add from poacher tents if i am runnin around camp fire they hit you for to many hp's and stun then your deadso it prob be not good idea to do these at 40 but i'm gunna try off to the side so i only get one tent
 
what would i need to twink a bard with to start him at level 1 and use this macro effectivly to get to like level 70 without really having to gear up outside of the twink items i got 11k pp
 
ok all here we go please dont flame me im 13 i got mq2 to work and compiled the mq2 program now i need help i looked in all the forums and ask for help on the bard afk and got flamed big time on the mq2 fourms so im about to quit trying ive been working on this for 36 hours so can someone hold my hand and show me how to compile these macros ill call you anywhere in the USA its a free call for me Email me your number or the proper steps to do this and thank you all for your help

Why not do it the easy way and use mq2?
Took me under 2 minutes after i found out what i actually had to do, and after i got my auth key; which was also very fast...
Are you trying to compile everything yourself? (too much work =P )
