Question - strange XP

I'm experiencing a strange XP pattern that I can't quite figure out.

I started with three level 35 characters and three level 29 characters.

The level 35 characters get about 0.9 XP per kill, later dropping to 0.7, and are now level 36. The level 29 characters initially got 15%, then 12%, and so on, but by level 40 they were down to 3.7%, and the percentage has been decreasing.

These characters are now level 40 and above.

And they're getting three times the XP, while the others are at 0.7.

Currently, I have three level 36 and three level 40 characters. They're all in the same group, and I haven't left the zone.

Why isn't the XP pattern similar for characters of the same level, but instead so drastically different?

maybe vitality related? tho i'd imagine that you'd be out by this point getting all those levels

do any of them have fellowship sharing turned on?
any have aaxp turned on accidentally?

pullers (really first to aggro) get a bonus to xp - which is one of the reasons why bards end up getting so much xp, their songs end up getting aggro even on the puller.

xp also gets gobbled up by the highest toon and then trickles down to the rest, so depending on what you're killing in relation to the group, you can end up with some weird stuff

no fellowship, aap dont work at level 40, the puller is a pal lvl 36 and pull blue mobs.
i dont see vitality message in the xp window.

I didn't know about the XP bonus with the puller. thx for the info :)

if you're pulling blue to a level 36, to a party containing level 40's, those mobs are light blue or green to them. This lowers their experience based on their own level vs. the mob's level, by quite a bit. I'm betting this is what you're seeing based on you pulling with a lower level pally. This is in addition to the higher level toons taking the bulk of the exp on top of that.
