Stoneroot Falls Runes

I was supprised when I searched the form and I did not see this mentioned.

The rune drop rate is more shallow now then it use to be, but it still is very nice.
If you go to the Orc Lego's in Stoneroot falls close to the alternate entrance into Dreadspire. One out of every 6 mobs will drop a rune. The lego's are level 70.

I farmed these runes with a group of 3. Shaman, Warrior, and Rogue was my group make up. They didn't hit my Warrior too hard, he has 15k hp and 2.5k AC. If you are not well geared then bring a cleric ranger and get a bard to pull.

The rogue or warrior should be able to single pull most of the mobs. You can either camp on the lower or upper part of the "ramp." We were able to get roughly 120 runes in 3 hrs. The Lego's do Enrage, so make sure to shut off attack at 10% hp, but if your rogue is well geared for dps this wont be a problem. The Lego's have a chance at dropping Greater shadowspine runes as well. I would say the Greater shadowspine's are 1 in 50 chance.

My group would usually camp at the upper part of the ramp.

Hmm. I used to camp this spot quite often but after a patch last month the drop rate seemed to decrease to the point it was not worth farming. I havent tried it again recently but they were dropping 1 in 6 or so before the patch and after the patch i got a rune 1 out of 15-20. I only tried for an hour and a half but just assumed it was nerfed when the patch message said should only drop off named creatures for the most part.

Are they both Greater & Glowing runes? 50/50 mix or what?

never seen a glowing drop only greater, but that was before the nerf patch as well. Have not been back there since myself.

Glowings are not on the loot table. its everything from level 66-69 no level 70's. If you want level 70 runes head over to Ruins of Illsluan(RoI) and camp the named in there. We found a few good camp spots there. The only problem is most of the nameds charm. So its good to have 2 tank classes for this. We did have a bard and I was still charmed. So I don't think there is a resist check and if there is its around 600. But the camp is easier then rss and better aa xp, but not to many people know how to get there quickly and safely.

This is how we do it. First we give everyone in the group levitate and invis. Then we run over to the wall close to the colusium, between the two balconies. we will call the one to the right balcony A and the one to the left balcony B. Now if you are facing the balconies you will run left along the wall. It is very important to do this because you will not be able to climb up the wall from water level between the wall and balcony B. Once you have reached about midway between the balcony B and the wall start climbing stright up.

Now that you are ontop of the rock overseeing the balcony, you can just lev down onto balcony B. Open the door and head back to the far left corner. This is were we always camp. There is only one roamer that walks through this area. If your group wipes, all you have to do is summon their corpses to that corner and stay huddled in there. The gear that these mobs drop are worth over 100k on my server and you have a good chance at a glowing.

hmm. Ok, i tested ledge camp orcs(all white con) again this morning. No runes, 25 kills. Stopped testing. I believe its still nerfed unless you are talking about another camp. I pulled the orcs on ledge ramp and the ones across the bridge. No runes at all, just orc meat and glowgems mostly.

I haven't been there since this recent patch. So Oceanrescue your probably right. Bah, I hate it when SOE does that. I would have posted it here eairler if I had access.

Side note, If you are looking for Greater Runes Gloomfang 90% of the time drops 2 Greater Runes. He can be soloed. He does hit hard. I usually do him with myself and a shaman.
