Problem - Spell casting pause 5m when - DID NOT TAKE HOLD

When a spell DID NOT TAKE HOLD, kissassist was pausing the use of that spell. I'm not sure if it is considering a resist to be the same thing here. I commented "/varset DPSTimer${1} 5m" out so that the spell could continue to be cast. This was happening for the following mage spells.
  • Ravening Servant Rk. II
  • Fusillade of Many Rk. II
  • Chaotic Magma Rk. II
  • Spear of Molten Dacite Rk. II
I assume that any spell where "DID NOT TAKE HOLD" is returned that those spells would also be paused for that period. I'm not sure what the intent was, maybe for something like a debuff where something stronger was in place? Not sure if a condition would be needed here in the macro to exclude dps spells.

@TRS80, I started a conversation with you and Leo. There is a copy of the macro for testing. If you get a chance give the macro a run and let me know how things go.
It is to decrease SPAM and to NOT continue to try and cast a spell that won't land on a mob. Once the mob dies the DPSTimers are reset to zero in the combatreset routine, so this should only happen once a fight, unless the fight lasts longer than 5 minutes.
 
Understood, but the problem is that those spells do land on that mob, but are removed from rotation if/when "did not take hold" happens to be returned on the same mob where these spells have landed during the same fight. I'm not sure if it's EQ returning that message when it should be returning "resisted", but in a 4 spell rotation, having 3 spells removed pretty much makes the dps take a dive until the next mob. Can be pretty bad when it comes to nameds in LS.
 
@TRS80 and @Leo Can you give me some instances for the spell being cast and the mobs being cast on. I will look and see if would be possible to do a secondary check on the target. The other thing would be if the spell is a single target spell or an AE spell(s).

I notice it mainly when casting swarm pet on mage, the DD component of the spell gets resisted and then it reads that as spell did not take hold and doesn't cast swarm pets again. I have less frequently seen it happen on the Chaotic nuke from my mages.
 
I've seen this happen on each of these spells, and on normal and named mobs in LS zones:

I didn't take note if there were any specific mobs this was happening on, because it just seemed to be happening everywhere.
