Hey guys, been a while since Ive been in the EQ field. Hope all is well around here.

Anyone have MQ2 working on Project99? Were not looking for anything crazy just Map would be nice. If no map is there still and old windows port of Showeq?

PM me if you have anything you would like to share and not post.

When I can afford some internet I will work on that for you can update it all to my compile i think the old back logs are still available. It wouldn't be hard and I could show ya how to get it done. And maintain it for your own group.

Aren't emulators just all older versions of EQ?

Figure out what the patch date of the Everquest.exe is then go Here MQ2 Source Download Archive.

Find the same MQ2 Source zip file as your EMU Everquest.exe file and compile it in a separate folder for your EMU.

Should give you the vanilla MQ2 compile. Matching up some of the plugins may be a little harder but there are TONS of older versions floating around VIP section.

Update:

After to talking to the devs the game files from Project 1999 predate MacroQuest2.

It was just Macroquest back in the day. The macros back then were much cruder as well since the scripting language was not as developed as it is in MQ2.

The devs have mentioned some interest in adapting MQ2 for EMU's predating 2004 i.e. project 99. It would be however a very long and involved project and will need further research and discussion.

Maskoi all I need is the opcodes they use if they willing to give me that I could do a compile in 30 minutes. Doesn't matter about the scripting language.

Yes I understand that. I was just pointing out and giving a little history that the scripting language of mq1 lacks many of the features that were added to mq2. It is irrelevant to making MQ2 backward compatible with earlier eq releases.

Well mq1 showeq systems were done by Plaz and I was taught and shown by him. :) So shouldn't be to much work.

mq2 can be adapted to work with P99, we just have to figure out the structures and offsets from back then. The entry point has always been the same.

not yet ... there is actually a lot work involved. can you post the eqgame.exe?

Hmm for some reason I'm having trouble archiving the .exe

I'll pm you for your email and send it to you that way.

Isnt Project99 one of the servers on EQEmulator.net, which uses the Titanium install? So wouldn't the 2005 MQ2 work? Or am I thinking of the wrong server?

Amalgamated this version with the one I had for a relatively good working version. Now I just need MQ2Piggyzone that works since the current .ini makes calls to the NPC translocators (that aren't in the old version of EQ)

Started playing on P99 and quite fun. I'm also pretty sure MQ2 will run just fine with some tweaks. Does anyone have the source for the MQ2 at the time of Titanium eqgame.exe? If not, I'll post the eqgame.exe and we can start hashing it out. I'm very familiar with mq2zone and mq2piggyzone as well and can fix those. Taking the translocators out and redoing the connections should be pretty easy.

Mq2warp will function, but don't use it on P99 or you will get banned. I'd use super speed instead. I'll post a complete compile once I get my hands on the base code. I just don't want to use the existing compile posted... I'm weird like that.

Nice, cant wait to see this happen. Im getting ready to go on vacation for a week, so perhaps with my laptop I may get some work done with this stuff :)

P99 uses the MQ2 code base MQ2-20051116

For any other compilers... Gonna start jamming on some code.... Oh man the world at my fingertips. I am just thinking back to all the plug-ins that were nerfed, nodelay, zonecrash, ghost, etc... I gotta say I'm actually feeling quite a bit of nostalgia just remembering the old hacks. Before anyone gets too excited, I will not release those types of plug-ins as it would destroy the community.

Hey Noob, LMK if you need any testers, as I am on a lot of different servers (SoD and titanium based), including P1999. Plus, as an old member, Im trustworthy too :D

How is the support for MQ2 on P99 coming along? I tried the "Titanium(2005-10-31) MQ2 Compile" that you guys mentioned but it none of the plugins worked for me. I'm not really a coder or anything but I'd love to help out if you need it.

Recently SoulZek was elevated to lev 3 dev status for his p99 submission. I believe he and a couple of other people are testing his p99 mq2 plugins. Post or send him a PM for the latest on that.
