EverQuest 1
I would like to have acess to the EQ1 forums please.
if you are not fire flagged and you are level 68+ and a snarer class ranger, druid, wizard, SK and necro, this should work for you (best if done on a necro)
the red shaded area is where you want the mob to move north and south, the blue is where you want your toon to move north and south
here a link to the zone
Ruin City of Dranik
here what you need to do
step 1 take the tunnel from Bloodfield anf once you enter the tunnel take a right as if you were heading to battle master
step 2 go down stairs and there will be a mob at the bottom of the stairs to your right, if you have an extend range item or you this will help you a tone because you can snare these as a necro 9 times out 10, meaning you have a 10% chance of the snare to resist and you can need this range to get a FD off
step 3 once you have your mob snared head back up stais and up that small ramp, wait at the top of the small ramp near the edge until you see your mob at the top of the landing, us your Blood of Thule spell as your snare timer, it wouldn't be a bad idea if you cast it once you know you got your mob snared
step 4 when the mob is about 10 feet from you, move back about 10 feet this will cuse the mob to turn around and head back to their spawn point, when you see the mob about 5 feet from the steps, move back up to the landing, this will cause the mob to head back towards you, keep doing this while you are dotting the mob until the mob is dead
NOTE you don't have enough time to use your Arm of the Dead unless the patch that sony did to reduce the time on that abillity has been shorten enough to use it, I'll try it once I get some practise in this form of kiting. What you are really doing is taking an advanage of the pathing bug in this area and this where I level up my necro from 68 to 70 and yes it is highly recommend that you be 68 before trying to do this. like I said at the start of the most any class that can snare I'm guessing can do it, but Necros are the best class to do with I can't do it on my wizard but that doesn't mean it can't be done with that class
also would like to add if for some reason you loose your snare timer and the snare wares off the mob, you can kite in that open area, but if you loose that timer you have little to no hope of surviving, best just FD if that happens
