Question - So what to do when you receive a ban notification ?

So I've been playing EQ for years and have never seen this before. I got a notice today that says :

We regret to inform you that account has been terminated (banned) for third-party program usage in Everquest

I've never had any prior experience with this. Can someone give me an idea if you can do anything about it ? Was pretty shocked to see it

Do you have any idea what happened?

Macros, plugins, compile you were using prior to the ban? Afk or at the keyboard? Were you using safety measures like gtfo and mq2posse? Did you recieve this on all accounts?

Had you had any previous warnings, how old was the account? Were you doing large business on the bazaar?

This info will help us craft a response.

We defiantly need more info. Did they email you?

Number one they only terminate an account after you have had a 3 day or 7 day suspension. did you buy these accounts or let anyone else use them.

Where you doing something so blatantly obvious that you were macroing or talking about mq2 in guild chat?

If what you doing is low key and were not doing anything crazy like afking for 2 weeks straight in the same camp then call them up. sound really surprised or pissed and ask WTF is going on. shut down mq2 for the next week or 2 while you get it resolved.

SOE has also been known to send out bans by mistake as just happened to one of our devs. I am not sure how the will handle customer service now that are Daybreak but CALL THEM to fix it.

As Maskoi said, we need more info on what zones you were playing , what macros you were running and what plugins you were using.

Was this an e-mail or ingame notice?

If it was an e-mail, was it a legit e-mail from SOE(i mean Daybreak)?

There have been phishing e-mails claiming to be from Sony.

To keep your mind at ease:
The last few years there have been very few bans at least here on RG. SOE has not been very active in going after vanilla MQ2 use.
