Question - Shards clicking in The Call CoV mission

In The Call Mission and while engaging the 4 dragons before Vulak you get some shards popping on cursor, is there a way (MQ2React? or MQ2Events?) to target self and click these shards on any of the boxed toons? or at least toon who gets it can announce it or something?

If there's an emote that comes prior to the AOE, you can setup an event. trigger="Emote goes here", command=/multiline ; /target id ${Me.ID}; /timed 3 /useitem NameOfShard

Note, you don't click the gem while fighting the dragon that gave it to you, each crystal you get protects you from some other dragon's AE.

I would forget MQ2Events and use MQ2react. You could setup something that looks to see if you’re on a particular dragon when the emote goes off, and if so, clicks. You could maybe also do it by aura, but I’m less certain how that would look in the TLO.

I have no idea if there's an emote to trigger the shard, maybe someone got it in any log entry? problem with the shard is, i'm 90% sure it pops or any of my boxes cursors tis why there is a need to automate this.

You have to move to a different dragon, mid fight. The shard you get from Dragon A protects you against the AOE from Dragon B, and vice versa. Look in the item lore to figure out which shard protects you from which dragon.

So the fight goes like this: fight dragon A until you get the frontal. Make sure all characters are in front and get the shard on their cursor. Once they all have the shard, wait for the next time Dragon A goes invulnerable. When that happens, you all run from Dragon A to Dragon B and engage dragon B. Now, while fighting Dragon B, you'll get an emote that his AOE is about to land. Everyone needs to target themselves and click their shard before the AOE lands. If done correctly, you'll get a message that you were protected and are at "1 of 4" to achievement completion. If you don't get the message, you fucked up. If you were successful, you can get the shard from Dragon B and repeat the process of disengaging and returning to Dragon A. Once you've successfully blocked AOEs from both dragons A and B, you can kill both and repeat the process on dragons C and D.

None of this happens during the golem portion and you can get affirmation that you've done it right before you ever have to engage Vulak.

I have only done this while playing a single character in a group of 6 live players. I do not anticipate trying to box this achievement for all 6 of my team at the same time. I'll just run them through each individually.

I run this with success, i heal through the AoE's with a CLR and SHM in group. Was hoping to automate this, any MQ2Events or MQ2React guru's can help with this?

No problem - to get the crystals you have to get hit by each dragons Breath attack - so you've got to purposely take extra damage (and the achievement is personal not group)

how did you box/macro the personal achievement?

I did it 2 ways
1) kill each of the corner dragons really slowly. Collect all 4 shard. Engage vulak. All 4 corner auras are now active. I wrote a macro to run a toon around the baseball diamond, get to a base and click the respective shard, wait for the success message before running to the next. Rinse and repeat until coming back and finishing off Vulak. This approach is effective, but has massive risk, coz if you die during the run, then you’re screwed, not much chance of recovering ‘the running character’ or wiping to Vulak (the golems arrive and 1 has a nasty 36 second silence that is pretty terminal). The other way takes longer but has a much higher success likelihood
2) dragon pairs. Kill one dragon slowly (say Red) Get the shard. Disengage either by leashing or leaving during their inactive phase. Run to and engage it’s paired dragon (Blue). Kill it slowly, when central is about to send its power to blue, click your red shard, get the success message, continue killing blue dragon slowly until you receive your blue crystal. Disengage and run back to Big Red, when central is about to send its power to red, click your blue shard and get the success message. You can now confidently kill the Red Dragon. Use the same approach with the yellow and clear dragon. Once you have all 4 success messages, gank Vulak.

I ended up doing 4 toons using method 1 before switching and using method 2 for the other 8 toons.

Bumping this because there's a 3rd relevant way to do the personal achievement.

3) Collect a shard from each dragon by purposefully eating the frontal AE on all your toons. Most of the time, you have to wait around for a while before the dragons do their frontal AEs. Frankly, I had to use staunch recovery the last couple of times I've done this because both my healers were like "wtf?" Once you have a shard from a dragon, kill it and move onto the next until you have all four shards and all four baby dragons are dead. I hope you didn't use burns because now we burn Vulak. Burn vulak down and then move your team to the zone-in area while the golems path to the center (assuming you managed to kill Vulak before the golems arrived and fucked your world). After all the golems are down you're now standing there with everything dead, BUT, the auras are still up because you haven't clicked the middle thingie yet. Run around to each of the auras and use the guide @ABWar posted >> above << to click the right shards in the right auras. Make certain you run into the middle of the aura, target yourself, click the shard, and WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE THE YELLOW TEXT SAYING YOU WERE SUCCESSFUL. Now you can move out of the aura and go to the next one. Rinse and repeat until you've done all four corners. Move to the glowing center stone/column thingie and click it for the mission win and for chest pop. Congrats, you're done the personal achievement.

- If you are feeling really ballsy, you can click all 4 shards at once. Then run a lap around the event area as fast as you can and get all 4 success messages. With bard speed, I had ~20 seconds to spare.

Damn, that’s helpful knowledge!!! That means I don’t have to drag extra healers around.
