Question - RoS Hero Missions by box?

So far I've tried cactus, skyfire and gorowyn hero missions and I have to say that the only one I'm reliably able to do is the cactus mission.

Box crew doesn't have essence of the dragon, so the skyfire mission is an instant bust.

I have a feeling that gorowyn should be viable, but the section with the portal striders really gets me stuck. Any tips would be much appreciated.
 
I've boxed Gorowyn and Cactus.

Cactus is easy as long as you can get it down before more then 2 cacti are up and you can keep up with the dot on the non-tanks.

Gorowyn:
On the portal phase, the named spawns when 2nd portal dies. Usually I kill the striders (2 mobs), kill the adds around portal 1 (2 mobs), kill portal 1, kill any other adds/striders, kill portal 2, kill named.

Skyfire you would have to have Eotd1 for, and likely a custom script for it or be paying a ton of attention. You need to balance adds, avoid/block/heal through meteors, deal with up to 5 mobs at once (two of whom proc a 90k DD/fling in rapid fire mode) all while having "helpers" that can out agro you and unbalance things as well.
 
Group comp and ini files would be awesome thanks. Just in case I have something amiss.
 
Gorowyn:War (self played), clr (on Jimbobs plugin), 3x zerker on ihczerker, shm played by hand

Cactus: War/Clr/ber/ber/ber+ shm/clr on a custom written spam script.
 
Seems like you have a major dps boost compared to me :)

First time I've seen anyone mention jimbobs plugin. How would you rate using it compared to kissassist/autocleric?

Hehe I have no tolerance for shit not falling over. :) There may be 6 zerkers in the army :)

It is different and I use a mix of all 3 or custom written stuff depending on what I am doing. One downside is it isn't auto detecting the new spells so if I want the new 106-110 heals I have to use kiss or something custom at the moment. I find it is quicker getting the heals out then the macros though at the cost of it only doing the heals. I also have a kissassist that I stripped to only buffs that I run with it at times. It is a beast for out of group xtar healing though on my clrs :)

Not really. The NPCs will help tank making it easier then some would think. Balance adds burn lifestealers so you just avoid the toxin/silence viral shit. After that balance vets. Put lev on and avoid the meteor if you can otherwise just eat it. You can even eat hammersmash if you keep the group topped off. Use 2 healers, 3dps (or 2 and a bard). There is no real need for CC though.

#1 Balance 1st set of adds so they all die near the same time.
#2. Burn lifestealers if you kill them fast you wont get the viral dot this is required if you intend to 6 box this thing.
#3. Balance veterans let the npcs tank for you if you want.
#4. BURN soulfeasters first, chok after, now named.
#5. Avoid meteors if you can just drag the named with you and have group follow. Eat hammersmash top everyone off though before it hits. It can be random sometimes ive had entire group in the circle and only 2 got any kind of damage from it.
#6 range dps overking for the win.

6 boxed this didnt use shield or get a viral.

You can use my plugin with Kiss as well if you want something to buff you, etc... I recently updated my plugins for the RoS spells. I'll ask Redbot to update the compile. :)

If you notice I listed using kiss with your cleric bot.

Thanks Jimbob hopefully he does that soon. Been missing the healing boost that it can provide.
 
I went ahead and posted it in the Heals thread. When the new compile comes out, I'll just delete it from the post, so no one gets an old .dll.
 
In the Cactus mission. Are the mobs rooted? What I understood is that you can't melee them. So can you hit them with range attack? I was thinking of trying it with 3 110s plus 3 wiz mercs. Ranger, chanty, cleric.

OR

can you use pets to melee while the rest range; then I would do ranger, 2 beasts, cleric & chanty

Help please!
 
Anyone else having an issue in Fell Folliage mission with some players getting teleported away?
 
Gorowyn,
1. Kill Red building
2. Kill mob in front Of forge
3. Kill mob in forge
4 kill adds/portals then named will spawn kill named
5 kill named in final building after he dies all undead adds come to you at once. sometimes they will summon my bard.
6 return to bridge for chest
 
This skyfire mission is kicking my butt, I'm getting to the phase with the chokidai & the warleader and then dying
 
I beat end of empire. Buff the npc's and let them do as much work as possible the "soul*" mobs on the 4th wave spawn dog pets, kill the soul sarnak first before the dogs and the warleader.
 
With the new patch Daybreak plans to make the cactus mission "harder" so get it while you can. Nothing gets fixed faster than when people state something is "easy" on the forumns.
 
Just tried the new Fell Foliage mission and immediately wiped. I had done like 6 times before with my 6 box group of ranger, 2 beasts, pally, chanty & cleric.

Not sure what they did but named became invulnerable at 95%. I think they went too far.

You probably have to kill adds to unlock his HP. Thats how the raid works if you get too many adds he becomes invul.
 
TIP/TRICK: Gorowyn Hero Mission (Balance of Power): During the portal phase, you don't actually need to kill the portals, you can just do /open on them.
 
Just a confirmation, you guys who boxed it through End of Empire got that Progression of EOK finished right?

So you had the ability to immune to the Aura of Kar'zok and Gust of Atrebe, otherwise eating those AE/Aura is no joke plus the meteor, especially for group geared toon.

It's nearly impossible to finish it without that ability imo.
 
Meterors are a joke i dont even move. Also dont move from hammersmash. Neither will one shot you so just heal through them.
 
Cactus mission is unchanged IMO. I run SK Bard Wiz Mag Enc Cleric. I do the mission every day before starting something else. Everybody just goes full burn, SK with 2Hander (lifetaps seem to help on surviving the proc from cactus, no AE from Boss that I can see). Bard melees also.
Just be sure that the one add and later a possible second add is in range of tank to get aggro - so dont put distance between your folks and the boss (the add might wreak havoc in the middle of your softskins). I just do the very botish clump of chars on top of boss *g*. Once in a while one hero gets flung away - if its the Wiz you need some luck that the dps is still sufficient - but that happens mostly near end of fight. 10 min from getting the mission, buff, fight, distribute the loot. Toons are 110 and EoK T2 group geared.

Working on End of Empire mission now, maybe I leave the chanter out for now and add a second healer (merc). Just setting up autoloot to give the defender shields to SK and Bard (I play the SK half manual on missions).
But what I just dont get to work is a change target button/social for the tank (I run Kissassist). I f I /mqp the tank I can press z to stop attack, change target, attack again and hit /switchnow via EQBC so the other toons assist again. But isnt there a solution for a working social (I tried different approaches like /mqp /attack off /xtar 2 /attack on /mqp /switchnow - but it just dont work) - anybody got a good solution here? - Edit: After reading some more, I get the feeling my Ini has MeleeOn=1 and UseMQ2Melee=1 both, need to check asap when I am at home.

Just went into it today and the big cactus hits for a max of 80k. This is a very big buff to the mission. You now need to keep an eye out for these sprouting succulents that spawn around and kill them and also the adds.

yes I have completed the EoK progression prior to completing the mission. They key for me has been to make it to the last wave w/o any additional adds up from the previous waves. high balanced dps is pretty key. I just eat the ae's and heal through them mostly.

Anyone beat the new version of Cactikilli on live as of noon yesterday? The EQ forums are really blowing up over the difficulty, apparently burning it down is impossible now.

Is there an easy way to balance the mobs while using kissassist?
 
I gave Fell Folliage a few attempts a few days ago (after the re-tune), seems nearly impossible now without some really stacked dps. My team couldn't do it (all EoK and Ros group gear, no rares), gotta do about 90 million dmg in 60 seconds or so, after that he starts spawning adds too fast to keep up. Really dumb, thankfully I already have the progression piece done so technically don't have to do this mission ever again.

My best attempt I got about 60 million dmg in, had him around 39% before he went immune and I had 2 adds + 4 sprouts out, pretty hopeless to keep up with that # of adds.

Cannot mez them, but that isn't even the issue. I can offtank all of them well enough but the boss is immune to all damage if any adds are left alive and they keep spawning at an ever increasing rate.

That's stupid... I wonder if the raid is the same mechanic... since it seemed like DBG was doing that for a while.
 
In the cactus raid the boss is only invulnerable if 4 or more adds are up. He also sheds 4 adds at % intervals as well as the burgeoning and the sprouts.

The trick to beating the group mission now is to offtank the named and the add until the sprouting spawns about 5 seconds after the boss. Kill that sproutling and you have roughly 70 seconds to burn down the boss before it repops.

Hope this helps someone.
 
Yea thats what I have been trying but 100 mil dmg in 70 seconds is a very tall order unless your rocking raid gear.
 
So it sounds like DB made it so progression can't be boxed. Do all members of a group need thr Veeshan peak key to enter or is it only one member needs it?
 
anyone done the VP talendor mission yet? just finished up VP merc and partisan and was moving on to that one next. Just looking for any pre info besides the horrible write-ups on eqresouece heh.
