Hi guys,

Returning user here, really enjoying Very Vanilla so far :). Still re-learning the ropes, but I think I’ve got the basics covered.

I’m running into a couple of issues though that are kind of annoying, and I’d love some help getting them sorted:
  • Pet stops attacking / loses target – playing a shaman, and if I switch targets the pet just stops doing anything.
  • NPCs not responding to hails – usually have to log out and back in before they’ll respond.
  • Tank/driver doing its own thing – on my SK, as soon as a mob gets into melee range, my SK starts casting and attacking on its own. Example: I was pulling, FDed to clear aggro, and the moment I stood up it ran straight into the pack of mobs and started attacking… ended badly.
Anyone know how to fix these? :D

cheers,
Scharn

You'd have to be specific about what automation you're using, you didn't say nor post in a section that might indicate

I think just RGMercs, but I don't remember doing it on my shaman - I run mostly with the default stuff. Is there anyway to know what stuff is running?
Your SHD is (most likely) doing exactly as you are telling it to, engaging things on your xtarget that are hostile.
You'll likely want to pause RGMercs.

Hit that button, or use /rgl pause (and /rgl unpause to do the opposite... /rgl help for more details.)

You can also turn off some settings like autoengage and autotarget to stop that behavior, but keeping it simple is likely best at first.

You would have to provide more specific detail about hailing NPCs. If you are engaged in combat, you won't be able to hail them, for the same reasons. (Pause mercs)

We don't have any "default stuff" really, so what your shaman is doing, we can't tell you.
Other than plugins, nothing is running automatically (unless you have specifially added it to do so in a config file). You can do /plugin list

Thank you guys - I think I'm running an old version of RG mercs (it says "macro version, deprecrated") and it does not show any windows like the one on your image. I will disable it, till I can figure it out.

Please don't use the deprecated macro... is it grossly outdated.

The RGMercs Lua resource can be found in my sig.

Well, it was new last time I played EQ! :)

But yes I will use the new version, it looks neat. Sorry I am a complete noob when it comes to this stuff, only used for a limited amount of time and it was long ago.

Everyone is a noob when they start, its in the word. Please don't feel the need to apologize for that! People here are happy to help.

For mercs, specifically, you can also find us in our discord channel if that's better for you!

I moved this convo to the rgmercs Lua support, knowing now it is the macro. But will give OP a place to put any starting follow-ups.

@Scharnhorst yah the supported Lua version is the way to go here for sure
