Bug - Replace Insta_camp?

Saw this on the EQ forums, so can't really take credit, and I suspect it's fairly well known:

Apparently /q is bugged so that you instantly exit the game, rather than hanging out and getting killed by your train. Train to your camp spot, /q, log back in without worrying about all the friends you made (don't be a dick and train groups in the process).

If you're on the TLP servers, it can also be used to reset your /pickzone timer, though I am not sure about the mechanics since I am not playing on TLP.

All of this is accurate. That said it's a good way to get the true believers angry with you.

instant camp is never a good thing. Its very detectable in the server logs. using it to avoid a horrible death is fine but I wouldn't go spamming it during any one session of playing.

Lol, instant_camp, and speedhacking was my best friend back in Karnor castle true classic days. The grief I would cause daily LOL. I'm much more mature now though ><

Yeah, I am not saying to use instant camp, that's a ban now. I am saying the normal /q EQ command will instacamp your character most of the time, and if you immediately re-enter the world, it works pretty flawlessly.

Well.......someone did this last night and I think it bugged the hell out of the raid. He /q and dropped aggro but target remained on the xtar. Everyone was in rest state so I didn't think anything of it. I had everyone start KA and told them to chase......well......they did not. That mob in xtar sent me on a nice little suicide run.

But yes..../q does a nice instacamp and aggro drop for the toon that does do it.....wasn't so nice for everyone else

I am guilty of that and although the clerics survived to rez the dead, the raid was then bugged and we had to abandon it, next time just gonna campfire back and eat the exp loss....
Don't /q when you can drop a campfire and be a man

/qing doesn't ALWAYS work btw. The vast majority, sure, but there are times you'll log back on dead.

It actually crashed my MQ2 completely, removed all my plugins and it was a nightmare!

I get that issue when I log out but don't close the game some times. I can almost count on at least 1 of 18 clients having a crash after getting booted from the game.

it was SO horrible, its hard to kill with 3 wizzies when mq2cast is not even loaded.....
