Question - Ranger and Paladin interchangable leader

I running a group of the following Ranger Paladin Wizard Enchanter Cleric Magician At times I need to have my ranger be the manualy by me as the group leader by me used when i need to track mobs. Other times when just exp grind/aa grind I use the Paladin. What my question is is this. When I'm running the paladin as the leader controlled by me) every toon works just fine. When I run the group with my ranger as the head character everyone will follow me just fine EXCEPT the paladin. Also when i issue the /assist command to attack the rangers target everyone but the paladin will start attacking the target. The order i do things on both toons is the following.

1) Get them all in a group
2) issue the command /bcg //mac kissassist ASSIST (Paladin/Ranger name. Pending on which one I'm going to lead with)
3) use my macro for everyone to Target and assist that particular toon.
4) Goi out on a killing spre.

Any suggestions our help would be appreciated. Below is the melee section for both toons .ini file I'm not going to post the entire file due to be to large for a post. If you need more info from the files I will post them in there entirety.

Both in General section are set to Role=Assist.
 
My first inclination would be Paladin is not set to ChaseAssist=1 and/or ReturnToCamp=0.
 
And with assistat=100 it will just lock onto the first thing you target.

What do you mean by /assist command? Have you tried "/bca //switch" to see if that will wake the pal up?
 
If you're "running" the group with the ranger, I assume you are pulling with rng, then having pal tank? If so, Pal should KA the Rng with role set as ROLE=TANK in the .ini, and all other chars should KA on the pal. You can use /mac kissassist manual on the RNG with himself targetted when using him to pull. I do this often with my groups.

I'm also confused by the /assist command? All chars should assist automatically if running KA.
 
What I do is on the third step of my post is after a mob is killed i have to re target my lead character regardless of which one with /bcg //target (insert character name here) and then /bcg //follow to get them on track to follow the leader. When controlling either one of those two toons i will use a form of pulling the mob ether run up to it or shoot an arrow. The other characters seem to not jump in and start attacking. I have them set at 99 for their assist. Such as Wizard Mage and enchanter. So i then have to do a /bcg //assist (character name). If that should not have to be done. since Kiss should auto jump in them maybe i have something set wrong i should look at. Any suggestions are appreciated. Also folks I do not in any of my groups set roles in game for characters in group. Eg use the in-game flags for setting Ranger as puller Paladin as Tank. Hence why we have the ROLE= section in kiss. Also sometimes i have to end and restart the macro to get it to work :).
 
Make assistat % 99 or less. If it's set to 100, it wont do anything.

AssistAt=100 <--- on paladin config

Also, if you want your paladin to tank, you should just set its default role as tank. This will make it pick up mobs at 100% health. I'm fairly sure in assist role, it wont use it's threat abilities via mq2melee? I can't remember.

Thirdly, to anyone as it was mentioned in this thread, if you're playing on progressions servers, turn OFF return to camp. HIGHLY recommended. Guides or Gms can move your characters, and if it just automatically returns to where it was, they will know you're using 3rd party programs.
