Is there someone who is compiling their own work around to make MQ2/KA work on Ragefire/Progression servers?
If so, i'd love a link

Id like to be able to use my characters with full compatibility to hunt and bot in the game so I can play 5 chars automatically while at the keyboard and running the 6th char

Thanks

Kiss works fine so far for me, but keep it simple and none robotic, you will stand out like sore thumb with a 6box group though so might be inviting a suspension. I am running a 3 box group and making sure there is nothing too robotic (melee stick for example) n obvious tells.

Just keep in mind that the progression servers are very populated. I am talking 50 toons in quenos hills and no mobs available to kill on lockjaw. I find it hard to find mobs to kill in very popular zones. Once I saw the population size I was tempted just to pick one toon and group all the way.

There are a large number of 6 box mage army with a druid on the side. Which I expect if people do this to max level will have most of the end game camped out unless DA steps in.

I have seen the one guy <name removed> a level 49 druid and his mages that all have names that rhymes, running around in lguk stealing camps and attracting attention to themself while giving boxers a bad rep...

But apart from that I don't think there are many "mage armies" on the server it just doesn't make any sense to box 6 mages or even 5 and its apparent when you get to higher levels and you actually need a cleric for rezzes or an enchanter for mez...

In any case mq2 works just fine on ragefire, please don't use macros for unattended botting. I play all the time but only to drive the other toons and I'm always at the keyboard to answer tells, be social and so on.

Also if a zone is full, just /pick to another that has fewer players in it, never had any problems finding camps.

Hmm i would think this was isolated because I have not heard a single friend banned

AS eqmule said really nqo point in afk grinding atm I mean hell 6 months expac and no aa why risk it

I was wondering if it was just a few being stupid or a lot of people they caught up in that ban wave. I would also be curious if it was just people on Ragefire or other servers that were targeted.

If you go to south Karana and hunt quillmane's you will get a tell from another player that has it camped in all instances , eventually saying "reported for warping" quite irritating when I NEVER warp and never will...

On that note there have been reports of others warping though so I guess there could be bans for that cause I KNOW for a fact that they can detect that server side...

There are deffo mage army in the early game at least on lockjaw. BB had 3 the other night.

Also 90% sure I saw a monk FK ghost killing in Quenos hills n then "so and so has killed gnoll" which wasn't me and he was hidden in the corner of the map by SFG. Think he was doing it for a while as there was loads of Gnoll corpses when I rocked up but no one around killing them.

they might be folks from that other site that are using active hacks imho usually quickest way to a banstick is to use actives .

lol at guy farming quill he should have more drops then he ever needed if he knew how to farm it we did a guild in one day .

quillmane is stupid easy to spawn. All the info is out there, just gotta do it.

lol...

It was a nightmare before someone figured out the spawn trick... MQ2POP plugin makes is so freaking easy its rediculous... being able to monitor the pop cycle of mob made it easy to figure out who was the super fast respawning PH roaming the crossroads by the quilmane hill.

Only thing i don't like about the RG compile of Mq2POP is that it doesn't show the spaens ID number in the pop message.
That comes in SUPER handy in certain zones where the PH will always respawn with the same ID number...

I remember needing that to be able to identify a goblin PH for some named.. and the PH always respawned with he exact same ID number, 2 minutes faster than the other goblins of same name.... so.. go kill all the goblins by that name.. and identify the ph by its spawn time while recoding the ID's of each.. spot the one that pops with same ID number again.. and confirm its him by another quick kill and ensuring his spawn timer...

Bingo.. you locked down the PH and know its exact id number.. to be able to relocate him when he pops again somewhere in the zone.

Thats a crazy example... but it helped so much to see the ID number of mob in the pop message.

When i was a member of "some other MQ2 site" years ago... i convinced "he who shall never be named or spoken about in Maskoi's presence" to add the quick fix to show ID number of mob in the Mq2POP msg.....

(cough) hint hint to Maskoi or eqmule (cough)

I never really played back then. I understand there's always some danger, but will Kiss even work ? I am thinking of running a tank/healer combo, and basically just want the map and Kiss to heal.

Kissassist works great on a healer on the TLP. The only issue I have seen with KA is that sometimes my enchanter will mez an add then mez the kill target before going into his dps routine. I manually play the tank so the only thing it costs me is a bit of mana on the ench.

Thanks, thats all i really want it for is just to help me heal while i pull / tank/dps on the main char

Warr/Cleric or SK/Sham ? anyone play back in these days ?

SK sham is much stronger than war cleric on TLP. SK dps with a 2h is about the same as a war, but you'll have sham buffs and haste to put you way past the war. With the new spell power and focus effects greater heal is more than enough to keep your tank up. You'll also have regen, slow, canni, snare, and FD to split.

Or you could be a true machine and go shaman/enchanter. KA makes that duo so easy and so god damn powerful.

I am only going to 2 box or 3 box and I've really been struggling trying to figure out which combo to use. Why is Shaman/Enchanter so powerful. I want to use kickassist and have a healing bot, and a mez bot, so I guess that leaves me controling the tank. Not sure which tank to use. Probably will go SK or Pali, and then add in chanter (instead of bard). But then what healer should I use? Think a Shaman or a cleric? I was leaning druid before! I cant deceide. I'm pretty new to mq2, how realistic am I?

I use mq2 for around 1 month now and realy had a blast. Cant imagine I ever had that much fun playing. I dont use any hacking tools, all I do is to automate 3 of my 4 chars and play 1 manualy.

So to answer your question jfcatch... /kissassist is pretty newbie friendly and will be ready to run within minutes. But as I said, Im still new to this mayself!

Newb question here, but how do you turn off melee stick? I don't want to get hit with a ban, and it's not really necessary for what I'm doing. It actually makes things a pita on my puller.

Tank, Enchanter, Cleric. IMO you'd be set for the future, and it's great currently.

[Melee]
AssistAt=96
MeleeOn=0 <---this turns melee off
FaceMobOn=0
MeleeDistance=75
StickHow=snaproll
AutoFireOn=0

Also, if you're playing a caster, always FaceMobOn=0

I'm new to the community this week but you guys have been spot on. I got kissassist setup within 10mins and I have had great time playing around with it. It's definitely made playing on the TLP servers even more interesting!

Before I came to check out redguides, per a friends recommendation, I was playing a mage (40) and had a bard (5) I was going to level to duo with. Since getting MQ I have messed around the bard and having him act as the tank/puller but had a few questions. When I was pulling with "Melee" sometimes I wouldn't get close enough to hit him before it 'gave up' and just started spamming 'out of range'. Then I started trying to pull with his level 2 damage song but that wouldn't fire off, probably because I had it in my twist. I found my twist including an AOE would do a pretty good job agro'ing when I was using 'melee' to pull.

Is there an easier way for a newbie bard to do this?

I'm not talking about kissassist. I'm just talking about the stick that mq2melee has. I mostly run casters with one melee to pull. I don't run kissassist on the melee. But still when I turn on auto attack, he sticks on the mob, and I can't turn auto attack off. It gets frustrating when I want to go pull another mob before that one is dead.

Throwing weapons worked well, when I figured out how to equip them! I've already learned so much. The kissassist is awesome and I'm getting better at it but I still run into hiccups. Like, why does my enchanter keep jumping, over and over and over until she's out of stamina. I think it has to do with a different plugin then kissassist. Should I post my questions here or should I go to the support forums?

I appreciate all the help. I'm usually able to find the answers to my questions in other peoples threads haha.

I rolled my first melee on RF/LJ just this week and now I remember the stupid retarded stutter step when mobs "flee" at low health. I wish it'd take me to max melee, then move me up 20 and let the mob get to max melee again, as opposed to moving up 2 repeatedly. I set the stickrange to a lower number (60 instead of 75) but it's still somewhat silly.

It has been such a fun week messing around on the TLP server as well as with this program. It really takes EQ to another level. Having said that I've had to add in an accout so I can get the most 'bang for the buck'. I'm not leaning towards Monk/Enchanter/Cleric but I realized I'd have no snare which really seems like a pain. I hate the runners and having my guys try and kill them. Would adding root to my dps chain on my cleric work? Maybe Sk/Enchanter/Cleric would make more sense so I can get the snare.

Would it be weird to post my 3 guys ini so that I can get some more advice?

I have/have access to those 3 classes and play them regularly. I could help you with if you needed it still.

Type on your melee, or other characters that you don't want sticking, in game:
  • /melee
  • then type /melee stickmode=off
  • should get a confirmation that it's now set to off.
  • then type /melee save

Hopefully this will help you.

MQ2Melee commands.
