Also keep in mind the following please . . . . . .
Where your pet physically engages/intercepts the pulled mob (in relation to your camp and campradius) is very subjective and dependant upon
both the puller's (mage's) run speed back to camp.. as well as the Pet's run speed back to camp.
The faster you run.. and the faster your pet runs... the faster you will return to camp (with the mob not being right on your tail).
This allows for the pet to waitformob to break the plane of engagement ... and then go to intercept the mob BEFORE it gets too close to camp.
If you and/or your pet run too slow.. then you are not waiting for the mob to get to you and enagaging at the maximum distance.. but rather simply dealing with the mob wherever it happens to be "by the time you finish running back to camp".
If you can wrap your head around this concept.... then you are on the right track to perfect pet pulls.
We have done extensive testing on this.. and the only way your pet enagages the mob too close to camp... is if your campradius is set bad, or you and/or your pet return to camp too slow (slow movement speed) to engage/intercept the mob at the max distance from camp.
PullerPetTank is designed so that you and pet should be waiting at camp for the pulled mob to get close enough for the pet to intercept it away from the camp itself. If you and pet run too slow, you are merely "reacting" to where the mob is in relation to when you finally finished returning to camp. Instead of actually waiting for the mob and intercepting it before it gets that close.
Get fastest run speed on you and pet.. and maintain it! ( Pet run speed spell "
Velocity" is a lifesaver for this !!!!!! )
I maintain PetBuff
Velocity via the mage.. and maintain Flight of Eagles or some other movement buff on mage via another toon in group.
