I'm going on a trip soon and was wondering about all those psp games...most require an unlocked psp device but mine has already been updated to ver. 4.05 with this recent game i bought and played (because they update auto when you put in a newer game than your firmware).

most require ver 1.0 or 1.5...sony doesn't offer a downgrading service, and if i did that i wouldn't be able to play my new game!

Is there anyway to get like old nes, snes, gen games on the psp? my memory stick pro duo is really really tiny (i need to get a new one...). If anyone has some links or experience with stuff like this that would be great. This doesn't fall under 'warez' or anything like that, does it?

regardless of what version firmware you have, you can downgrade it to a compatible version, then upgrade using hacked frimware.

the newest versions of firmware by DarkAleX actually even replace the system updater tool to a version that checks his own website... i patch my hacked firmware on my psp by just doing it the normal way, over the internet... the server my PSP looks to just isn't sony.com anymore. i'm currently running version 4.01 m33-2... there's really not a lot different about the firmwares, except that they allow homebrew code to run. it's not like some haxxor daxxor made his own vagina shaped icons or anything silly. all the features that the new official sony ones have are there, plus a few extra ones too. worth it IMO, and little-to-no chance of bricking your PSP if done properly.

with a big enough memory stick (they're cheap now), you can put whatever you want on there.
