Question - Proper KA Startup macro

Hi All,

Just started to use KA with my 5 box last night. My group consists of WAR (Tank and ML), BARD (Puller), Cleric (Healer), Enchanter (Mezzer), and Wizard. I had a few problems, like my puller going back to the last Campsite and standing there. Tank not picking up on aggro, when a mob comes into camp. Buffers not buffing. Those sorts of things. Now after doing some reading today, and looking at my KA ini's I see some of the mistakes I was making. But I have also read about the way you start KA that have me confused. So I wanted to ask, what is the proper way to start KA on this group?

And while I have your attention, how about one for my Ranger (PullerTank) and Druid(Assist and Heal)?

I manually play a dps, which I pull with, so my startup macro looks like this.

/bct Dps1 //mac kissassist assist tankname
/bct Dps2 //mac kissassist assist tankname
/bct CC //mac kissassist assist tankname
/bct clr //mac kissassist assist tankname
/bct Tank //mac kissassist Tank tankname


If I wanted my tank to pullertank I would change tank to pullertank

Your druid would just do the assist (even if in heal mode, you set heals on inside the .ini, but it would use your tanktarget as ma)

if you were telling your ranger that he is pulling and tanking
/bct Ranger //mac kissassist pullertank Ranger

Also you said that you play a DPS manually and use it to pull with. Do you use the "manual" switch with that char?

nah, full driving. I really enjoy pulling and camp management with showeq on another monitor maximizing spawn timers and such

ShowEQ? Ok you got me on that one hehe. I take it from the name that it will show you what mobs are up at any given time? First I've heard of it.

I still call it ShowEQ even tho that's the linux version, MySeq is the windows version

MySEQ is an EverQuest map that runs in its own window, showing location information of PCs and NPCs. It's considered the best map for multi-boxers, even superior to both in-game and MQ2Map.

MySEQ was started by cavemanbob and Lyenu in 2003 as a Windows version of ShowEQ, which began in 1999.

Here's my setup from 2017ish.
Primary PC middle and two right monitors - the top monitor has the showeq for mainpc
Second PC left and top left monitor - top monitor has showeq for secondpc
Sometimes I'll run a 3rd pc which I use for Primary PC showeq and some background toons, but I haven't run 3 groups in a while

Two of my monitors have died since then - once which I fixed (capacitor problem, the other I haven't taken apart yet). I got sick back in 2017, and have to watch my $ since then, so no upgrades recently, but I get buy with this setup that looks way more expensive than it is... lol.

Holyyyyyyyycrap Sic, that is awesome. So you actually run 2 groups at the same time? And thanks for the links, I will check them out. Not sure when I will ever use them, I feel like such a noob with this stuff. Seems like I no more than get something fixed and 2 more problems spring up. Then I get real frustrated and well...my desk feels it lol. Anyways thanks for all the help.

This stuff is a process - I was manually boxing for YEARS before I found RG lol - made my life unbelievably easier, but its a process. I'm still having issues with things and learning every day
