Problem - Problem with clients not drawing the screen any longer

I am running a bunch of boxes, they all play fine. I haven't altered the FPS settings, although I know there is a fps limiter for background stuff. I'm ok with whatever it is set to, the boxes still respond. I am having an issue though, when in the background (not minimised, just background) boxes will randomly stop drawing screen updates. The session will still run fine, responsive to dannet instructions, and also still running scripts and plugins. But the screen will not update from some random screen when happened to go to no more updates.
I say FPS goes to 0 but since the clients still respond, maybe something else is happening? This state survives zoning (the clients zone properly) and I can also use dannet to instruct the client to camp out.

Eventually I get tired of that one not being visible, and nuke it.

Is there some plugin that is being loaded doing this? or anything I can alter or change to try and stop it?

Thanks in advance.

This sounds like the fps limiter that you acknowledged and dismissed. It works by preventing the game by rendering when it is in the background.

Take a look at it in the settings (/mqsettings)

Thank you, I did look at those settings because it seemed like the obvious thing.

I tried disabling it, reloading all clients from scratch. Same thing happened.
So it's back on enabled, render game scene, 10 fps in background
Draw lmgui at sim rate is ticked, GameUI one is not.
Enable frame limiting in foreground is on and set to 45fps.
Min sim rate is 30fps and clear screen when not rendering is not set.

So none of that screamed "stop drawing the screen" :(

I'll hit reset defaults on it for all clients, just to see if that stops it happening.

does it only happen with MQ?
is it always the same client?
how many clients can you run before it breaks one?

just some questions to help narrow it down some.

even with the settings reset, which turns it off, it happens again.

I am running 6 sessions, only happens with MQ, all clients have it happen but not at the same time, just randomly. I only use 6 sessions, and either 6 or 1, so not really anything helpful there I'm afraid. I can play for hours and have two or 3 stop drawing, but when I am actually playing doing stuff, so I change primary screen a bit, it happens more often. (ie, if I let it play bot killing some area, it happens less often, but still happens). Since the game carries on running, if it's botted it isn't the end of the world, but if it's unscripted content I need to keep doing stuff on the clients, like messing with quest things or whatever, so having 2 or 3 clients be not drawing isn't good.
It can happen in a minute or 2, or maybe sometimes ages (hours), but when actively playing, it happens so regularly I am reloading clients more than I am playing.

How about loading all clients manually with MQ closed (exited, no tray icon), have them /follow your main and just run around some random zones for a while and see if any client screens act strangely.

I did, the last patch day. Issue was happening before and after.

I resolved this by deleting my EQ ini files and starting from scratch, went through all the settings again and set everything accordingly, and this has now stopped happening, and also some other random client crash that was happening now and then.
No idea what the actual problem was, there we go.

Thanks all for suggestions
