Sicprofundus submitted a new resource:

PoKScribe - Scribe Macro that will take you to PoK and cycle your class vendors

Getting my feet a little wetter with macros. I decided to edit the amazing scribe.mac by @Sym and make it travel to PoK (with some @kaen01 code), and cycle through vendors (with some @ChatWithThisName code), and got some working experience with getting a macro from idea to functional.

This update should also fix the sometimes-occurrence of missing spells with the @eqmule TLO addition of ${Merchant.ItemsReceived}...

Read more about this resource...

Nice, this'll come in handy with the new box team I'm starting after a small break. Was just about to download original scribe.mac (still did) and will give this a shot now too! :)

yes, uses nav features so need mq2nav. I should/could probably include working meshes for Crescent, Moors, and PoK (since many people's meshes for crescent likely wouldn't work from point of origin

One idea that maybe you hadn’t thought of is using the new /travelto command. Obviously there is a risk reward scale for this, but just an idea.

yeah definitely something that occured to me. and i have a *ton* of ideas, but as I frequently say (and remind myself) ideas are cheap; work is costly.

I also wanted to get some more sub creation experience - the idea of subs is, for some reason, really exciting to me. I makes me think of the DaVinci thing - something about being able to appreciate the single tree on the mountain, in its individual perfectness giving itself to something greater. /shrug

My ideas to ability ratio is heavy on the side of ideas.
A couple of things I would like to do with this:

1 - when it is given parameters for levels, it will only check the appropriate level vendors (I'm sure this is within the scope of my abilities, or at least within grasp)
2 - give other options like going and getting CoTH or Lcae, or RoS spells (also likely just outside my abilities to accomplish)
3 - be able to re-write the entire thing without code from other people (very distant from my abilities, but every day I get better)

@eqmule wrote a macro for dreamotes. It’s on the mothership site in the VIP area. It isn’t my work and to my knowledge it isn’t posted on RG therefore can not post it here, although with his permission I could upload it and make it a resource. I believe it’s called Dreadmote.mac I’d you have access there to search. It could be an inspiration on how that part could be included in your macro.

I love looking at how different people code, they're like unique languages - it also gives me insights to the order that people articulate and then solve problems.

what I mean to say is "That would be cool, I'd love to get some inspiration"

Sic...nice job. I was using Scribe.mac, and if I was going to go this way I would change to yours in a heartbeat. But I am not going to use any of these type mac files. And the reason is because they buy everything for your characters level. So if you have Druids, Enchanters, Wizards, or Mages that can be an expensive proposition, very expensive. And Healers and Buffers are almost as bad. I haven't played this game in like 16 years lol. I just don't have that plat reserve built up yet. And all those spells that end up being redundant. And worse are all the spells that are not used when your in a group (what a waste). So I have started researching what spells I need and which I don't need to buy at all. Saved me a ton of plat already and made me better informed about spells for all my characters. Namely, what they do specifically and whether they are redundant or not.

So long story short, that was a my way of saying that I really do appreciate your efforts. And to encourage you to continue. Least I can do considering all the help you have given me in the recent past.

Yeah, I've considered in putting something together specifically for non-redundant spells, as it is indeed a huge plat investment, but every now and again I'll end up wanting a lower level spell for some reason or another lol and since this was inside the scope of what scribe.mac already did I wasn't worried too much.

I have a few things I want to add in the future so we'll see where this goes, I have a few ideas ;)

Great script. There's a typo on the wizard one - script exits with 'Could not find spawn matching search 'spawn npc Channeler Larklord' - the NPC is actually named 'Channeler Larkord'.

If anybody else runs into it just replace line 256 that reads:
/varset WIZMerchant[6] "Channeler Larklord"

with Channeler Larkord.

Great macro. Simple and easy to use. Load your crew up with plat and bags and let it do it’s thing. Would definitely recommend if your leveling a new box crew.

I absolutely love this macro. Wish it existed for post-PoK spells.

Any thoughts on adding some alert text or noise or something to illuminate your character's lack of money?

Just a thought.

I think its finally time I go and get glasses =/ only needed them my whole life lol
If you want to give people a fit make a toon with 'rnn' in the name /evil
Not so much anymore with click on name but it is fun without it being obvious like 'IiiIl' that you are being silly.

I got sick of running the toons to each merchant and then doing /mac scribe, took this macro and modified it so you can at least just zone in and do /mac zonescribe.
Also tells you which zone is next once done. For all but PoK visits each spell/tome vendor.

Added some vendor check so the list is fully populated, delay for spell buy.

Vendors now ini based.

It seems for tomes they are being bought from the vendor but not learned, have you seen this before? It seems to be inconsistent, as with 3 berserkers, 1 had 3 tomes they bought but did not learn, the other 2 only had 1 tome they bought and did not learn

no, but others have mentioned recently issues with "SLOT IS NULL" issue - so perhaps there is a broader mq2 issue atm

LOL Indeed it is. Totally missed that. Will keep an eye on it and see if can narrow down where/why that is happening. Thanks for the great script Sic!

This issue seems to have been resolved with the latest MQ2 patch. Have not noticed any unlearned discipline books in inventory anymore

I still see this on Test. Characters are buying the Combat Abilities, but not learning them.

I do not get the SLOT IS NULL error.

I have a crew of SK/CLR/MNKx3/ENC.

The problem only occurs with Melee/Hybrid characters (SK/MNK) in my case.

The problem only occurs for combat abilities that are purchased but are NOT placed in bags. My monks for instance only have 4 bags, whereas my main (the SK) has a full complement of bags and therefore does not have this issue. If the Monks buy, for example, 7 combat abilities, (6 in the open slots, one in the first bag) then 1 is learned (from the bag) and the other 6 are not.

Just confirmed this twice today as I've leveled up. Test build was updated through the launcher a day or so ago.

Hi on EMU, the plugin doesn't seem to scribe spells. I have a feeling this is due the ROF2 client not letting you right click spells to mem them?
