I did some reading, and figured so far I cannot use the CWTN class plugins if I am using multiple computers as far as buff monitoring is concerned. Is that 100% correct? Since it does not use Dannet for network communication. Is the buff monitoring the only thing that will not function in this regard? Will the class plugins still heal other characters?

Instead of leading with a theory based concern, lead with a requirement / ask. It's actually a lot easier.

Are you looking for buff bot functionality while in Guild Hall or while toons are leveling?
Are you wanting such buff routine to be automatic based on detection of buff falling off of said PLee?

Help us, help you.

it looks at your group information who needs healing - which that information is available - it doesn't care if it is a real person, or a bot, or a local toon, or a merc.
it can't and doesn't see buffing information from non-local non-local-install toons for buffing. All the plugins mention this.

the cwtn plugins have a dedicated section for CWTN questions, please make sure to post in there, otherwise not only do i have to answer the question, but then have to do all the moving around.

No theory based concern was stated. I stated the conclusion of my research thus far which raised additional questions. Perfectly logical way to address a hole in research information. My "ask" was, is there any way to get the plugins to see network computers for buff routines as well as will it affect healing. Seemed pretty straight forward at the time of posting. I apologize if the verbiage wasn't clear enough for complete comprehension in the fashion which I have stated it. I will be sure to simplify / break down my posting for the next time.

Again, I was asking as a global question about the function base itself. So, not necessary to spell out every single aspect of "why" or "when" I need to function, if it is global which affects the all of the situation.

Thanks for the info Sic.

I had thought I posted in the right section, and I now just realized that there is a forum link under the CWTN plugin section I should have used. I will be more detailed in the future as to where the posts go.

What about sync'ing folders from other pc's sic? it could then appear as if they are local right?
please, emphatically don't do that.

we tell people not to do that because who knows. that is not intended, and file syncing you're potentially running into stale data, or file locking.

absolutely ask people not to do that.

I don't mean ignorantly sync'ing folders, i meant sync'ing the PC2-toon files towards PC1 where buffers are (for instance). As the files for those toons which are not local on that PC; would this file lock as reads occurred?

I had thought of this myself. But unsure how that would work out based on many network factors and how the plugins communicate, Looks like Sic also expressed concern over that. But otherwise it's a great thought for the idea! 🙏

it may, but we're recommending not doing that, and asking folks to not recommend suggesting that either. the info might also end up being stale by the time it arrives, and we wouldn't buff anyhow
