Is this effectively a mage only option? I have not seen it for any other classes in the ini library.

Also, will this option give toys to other pets that are on xtargets or in the party?
Does the owner of the pet have to be on xtarget or the pet it's self
 
It has been a while since I have used this, but make sure PetToysOn is on, on your mage. Now from the toon, who's pet you want to get toys. send a tell to the mage in this format. /tell MageName PetToysPlease ${Me.Pet.Name}

I am not sure what other class you would use to give toy's to a pet, but the pettoy routine is NOT mage specific.

But there is no kissassist option saying "I want pet toys" or something like that?

Is it correct to say that no other classes can summon pet toys? Maybe you would be able to give some Defiant gear to pets?
Based on your comment I am not 100% sure I understand this. Why wouldn't we want to give pet toys to a Necro/BeastLord/Ench pet?

/dex MageName /pettoysplz ${Me.Pet.Name} works as well, tried today despite the declaration: "*** Only works using MQ2EQBCS !!! "
 
I am wondering how would you set this up so it would equip pets after being summoned by the mage.

Say, my chanter's pet dies in combat, so chanter summons another pet...how would he notify the mage automatically to arm the new pet?
 
My thing is I keep getting the message that Slot 1 needs to be open. (nothing in the first slot.) If I move the bag out of the first slot the toys are made and given to my pet. I put the bag back in place and nothing happens but the message.

in the mages ini inside the [Pet] section you define the petgear your mage shall summon ... for lvl 115 it might be:
PetToysSize=4
PetToys1=Grant Yalrek's Armaments|Summoned: Silver Shortsword|Summoned: Silver Fireblade
PetToys2=Grant Crystasia's Heirlooms
PetToys3=Grant Ocoenydd's Plate
PetToys4=Grant Visor of Vabtik

NB: at the pettoys "Heirloomes" and "Plate" you may not name the single items, like you do with the weapons

on your other pet-class-toon i.e. Chanter you create a hotbutton:
if already using the plugin MQ2EQBCS use the comand "/bct MageName //pettoysplz ${Me.Pet.CleanName} " as described above
"/bct" sends the command from your chanter to the Mage, telling the mage the actual name of the chanters pet (syntax specific to plugin MQ2EQBCS)

if already using the Plugin MQ2Dannet use the command "/dex MageName /pettoysplz ${Me.Pet.CleanName}"
"/dex" sends the command from your chanter to the Mage, telling the mage the actual name of the chanters pet (syntax specific to plugin MQ2Dannet)
if not using dannet yet, you can activate that plugin MQ2Dannet with the command: "/plugin mq2dannet"

NB: "MageName" is a placeholder for the name of your mage
NB2: you need atleast 1 plugin, which gives you the ability to send commands from 1 char to another, so either MQ2EQBCS or MQ2Dannet

IMPORTANT: before starting the pettoyspls-Hotbutton you shall manually walk your pet close to the mage, as the mage won't navigate to your chanter's pet do deliver the toys.
IMPORTANT: 1 Bagslot needs to be free, to place the toys and unpack them (I use slot 4 .i.e. so, not necessary slot 1)
 
If your mage is on a mount, has levi, has EQ /follow on someone, has MQ2 /afollow on someone, has Kiss /chase set on, or their moon is rising in Aquarius... it will not give out pet weapons.

Seriously, there are a number of things that break pet weapons and there are no error messages to help you figure it out. Most of them resolve to issues that mage has with moving and/or being able to target the pet in question. Like when you have the group use their campfire and they're all stacked up on top of one another your mage won't be able to target the pet until you manually spread out the group. Not to mention if your mage is in the cycle of handing out pet weapons and a mob wanders into camp your mage will happily die before switching into combat mode. He/she has a single-minded devotion to handing out those items come hell or high water!

So I hand out pet toys somewhat manually. I switch to the mage's window and manually type /pettoysplz some_group_pet_name. And then I actually confirm it's doing it.
