I'm having trouble getting my pet to do what I want. I was in Gloomingdeep, with my Ranger / Mage duo, doing quests.

KissAssist Setup:
1. Ranger targeted self, did /mac kissassist manual
2. Mage targeted Ranger, did /mac kissassist PetTank

Murder most foul:
1. Ranger targeted NPC 1, hailed him, got a quest.
2. Ranger clicked on NPC 2 with the intention of hailing him as well.
3. EQBC tells me my pet is tanking NPC2. Earth pet taunted NPC 2. Earth pet was swiftly murdered, along with his Magician master.
4. Ranger was not murdered.

What happened? What did I do wrong? I have mq2melee and mq2cast off.
Here's my Mage's .ini:

Any thoughts on how to not inadvertently attack my allies would be appreciated!

/mqp

Pause the macro until you're at camp or instance. If you plan to get the same quest from an NPC over and over, you could add them to Ignore in KissAssist_info.ini

If you don't want the pet to attack on its own, which is what PetTank will do, you could run the mage as "Assist"and have a hotkey on ranger that tells the mage to send their pet on your target.

KissAssist Setup:
1. Ranger targeted self, did /mac kissassist manual
2. Mage targeted Ranger, did /mac kissassist PetTank
This is not how you do it. The ranger can not assist himself. If the mage is going to do the PetTank thing, the ranger should target the mage (not pet) when starting kissassist and the mage should target himself. And when you move to talk to npcs, you need to issue /mqp commands to all characters (and then /mqp again to resume fighting)
