Question - Paladin as main healer? (1 Viewer)

Does anyone have any experience with a paladin as a main healer? I have a very well geared warrior tank at my disposal, but no real experience whatsoever with paladins. I'm thinking a paladin would add more DPS for the group and also be a fleshier alternative than the cleric in case of unwanted aggro/macro hangups. I know of course that a manual paladin can easily heal most content with my current group setup, but has anyone tried this for real with a macro'd one?

I have with mixed results just experimenting. Paladin was tank though and chanter for slows with wiz's for dps group content was doable. Don't know about just using one to heal a warrior.

You can main heal as a pally. Shit in tempest macro i run tank 4 dps bard no healer.

I had my warrior grind for 30 mins with a dead cleric in Frontier Mountains just recently, the only backup heals in my group comes from a beastlord who didn't even have the healing spells mem'd.

I think the main thing to keep in mind is how beefy your MT is doesn't matter War/PAL/SK

If it is raid geared with all the defensive AAs maxed then even a group geared Pally can heal it.

Second of course is the type of content, well geared Pallies and SKs are amazing against older content.

While an SK for instance is an excellent choice for a self healing tank, as a group healer it's quite terrible. I'm thinking a paladin should do it a lot better. All my toons are max AA since about 2 weeks into EoK anyways and they are in mainly raid gear, so it might actually be worth a shot. I still have the cleric anyways if it fails, and then I'll have an extra tank to play with in the worst case. :p

I often have a merc die, and wind up tanking and healing with regular mobs even in EOK, a pally can heal on regular mobs.

I sorted my situation, albeit a bit unconventional. All the healing I need for EoK comes from 2 beastlord pets, 1 beastlord healing and chanter scarecrow illusion, + a few warrior abilities.. Also gives me double Paragon for the wiz.
