Question - Over buffing..

Level 60 Shaman playing on Ragefire.

I have 2 groups setup in a raid formation. the Shammy will always over buff. He'll cast the same group buff 4-5 times on various members of the groups even though they already have it. The cleric will do the same when casting Heroic Bond.

I've tried with an without /anon to see if that makes a difference. I've also confirmed that TBG is ON.

Any suggestions on a fix or pointer? Thanks in advance

Are all the groups/characters running on the same computer and using the same instance of MQ2?

Yes. All using the same instance, all have full access to the buff ini

I have noticed this before myself, when 1st initializing KA, the shaman will go thru and target and buff each character with the Group buffs as if they were single buffs. Never worried too much about it as with me it was only the Unity line that needed the |Dual| tag that he ever did it with, never looked at the lower end ..

This is what I would do. Start up kissAssist on all characters. Let it run on all toons till there in camp waiting. Start the shaman last. Now there is a delay from when the buffs land on the Characters and their buffs get written to the ini file. If the shaman tries to keep rebuffing the group, then /endmacro on the shaman and go edit the Kissassist_buffs.ini file. In the ini file will be a list of buffs on all characters using the KissAssist_Buffs.ini file. Are the Buffs your shaman is casting listed for each Character?

Yes. Then I have know idea why the shaman keeps recasting. This is where the characters check to see if another character needs a buff.
No. Check the KissAssist_buffs.ini file and see if it is read only.

Most of the time this is a timing issue. Good example would be if you start the shaman first or before other characters, then add a character to the group and start KA on the new group member. First thing that happens is the shaman will see someone in the group needs buffs, so he/she starts buffing the new group member, the problem here is the new group member was a Mage and see need to cast her pet and cast weapons and give to the pet, etc.... Now by the time the mage finished with all her getting ready duties and finally gets around to updating the KissAssist_Buffs.ini file. The shaman has rebuffed the mage 3 or 4 times. I start my Mage first and then start my shaman and cleric last.

I solve that by using the |Me tag after group buffs.
He doesn't rebuff each group member when they die or get dispelled though. Only when his own wear off, or when I click them off to force him to rebuff the group.

This is what I do too, and it does seem to be tied to group buffs. my chanter might very well be handicapped.

I do similar, except i use |MA tag, being as its VERY important that my TANK has those buffs, BUT those tags DON'T work well with he |Dual| tag set used at higher levels...
