Opening MQ2 with Vista 64

I use Windows Vista 64 bit and open EQ without WinEQ (just the default EQ icon)

I am using winRAR to open jmo's compile. The program opens and shows as running on my task bar, but when I log in the HUD does not show. As if the application is not running at all. I cannot use any of the commands.

Is there something I am missing? Any help is greatly appreciated.

A couple of things could be happening ....

First:You said that the HUD does not show. This could be that MQ2HUD is not running. Can you see the MQ2 Window?

Second: If you can not see the MQ2 Window, then MQ2ChatWnd might not be running. Type the following in any chat window:
Rich (BB code):
 /echo Hello World!

if you get the good ole "unrecognized command" then MQ2 has not hooked into the eqgame.exe process.

Are you running EQ in compatibility mode? Likewise with MacroQuest.exe

"Run as administrator" If you're not running both EQ and MQ2 this way this is probably the problem.

Ah ... I'm running mine on a domain and my account is a domain admin ... I always forget the run as admin ....
