Question - Old Bloodfields - Kyv - Summoning

So I spent considerable time watching Old Bloodfields pathing and spawn locs. I could not find a spot that would allow pulls that did not risk running into Kyv. I know Kyv summon so my question is is about how summoning works as I've never really dealt with it before.

1) Will the Kyv summon if merely aggro'd (by running by with another mob) or do they have to actually be attacked?

2) Once summoned, say the puller can get back to camp anyway, do they summon again or will they pull to camp after first summons?

I worry about the summoning since my power lies in the grp and anything that divides my grp leads to deaths (which is why there is summoning lol).

If I'm screwed in old Bloodfields please suggest an alternative for my grp which is currently 86-88. I spent weeks trying to find a spot; some simply azz-raped my grp, other's appeared to have an negative XP qualifier haha (Tosk anyone?). I currently only have whatever best gear I could buy so that's prolly an issue, but it's life, reality. Although the Abstruse, for my lvl, seems pretty decent, and I can upgrade it when able to kill the names that drop the upgrade parts (thinkin at least hit 90?).

Get used to summoning, it is a fact of life in EQ... Most times your puller will ran back anyway bringing the summoning bastard with him.... Or your cleric will get agro from healing your slow butt and then all hell breaks lose... Get setup using things that don't trigger Summon... I pull with arrows on warriors, and Terrors on SKs. My Warriors shoot and sometimes there is 2 seconds before the arrow hits that dude that is SO far away!

At your level I would do the Cotf zones, start with HoT zones and work your way to grounds You can also do your J5 quest as the mobs in that zone are designed for new 85s to murder!

Feerrott the dream.... is where I would start...

It has been my experience with summoning mobs that they must be damaged to summon. Not sure exactly how much damage but I seem to remember being summoned on pulls when the mob was still at 98% health. Once they start summoning they will continue to randomly summon throughout the fight. My solution was to pull with something that causes agro without damage... Think taunt, or malo/tash or other disempowering type spell.

At those levels I was working the tier 1 thule zones mostly. The hero's journey paragon armor is comparable to abstruse and easily quested at your levels.
I forget exactly when I started the thule tier2 named, I think it was shortly after getting all the tier1 armor/equipment. My tank was probable at least level 90, but likely not the entire group.

I tried some zones off of Brell's, like Underquary and The Foundation. It all looked good on paper, but I got slaughtered. In one case, I could not find a path to what I thought would be the perfect camp spot due to mobs en-route that saw thru invis. I considered the lake/waterfall in Brells that leads to UQ but feared it was too public (traffic going to UQ). I am a few lvls higher now, and also a full grp (where I was just 3 toons before iirc) so I might try again.

J5 as in Warrens? Or Feerot The Dream? I remember getting my one and only J5 at probably lvl 80 in Warrens (had help no doubt) but remember thinking at the time damn, they hit hard, no way I could ever survive that. I had always expected the 85 (Feerot) version to be harder but it makes sense since EQ is trying to get heroic toons started there... I will give your suggestions a shot. I've done some DH HA's but not with MQ2 and always with higher levels from my guild. It's on my bucket list to learn how to do those using MQ2 for my grp but have not as of yet (and certainly not today). House of Thule I guess I have to try, was worried about something but it escapes me now.

Thx Raz and hoosier, very helpful!

J5 is feerrott, and Feerrott is scaled to allow a group of 3 85s to survive with little issues. The mobs hit lighter and are easier to kill then anything else at that level.

Bad gear but mid 80's... go to Lopping Plains to the far west of map... go to the tri tent camps and set up in the middle... you can handle it and the bulk mobs to pull at low LB's will still help you level.. and farm some money to upgrade your gear. Either that or go to HoThule and play a scared bitch in a corner pulling single pulls. That's my suggestions.

Gotcha thx! I played the hell outa Loping Plains but finally decided I outgrew it (and it had been real easy for me). I musta looted 500 RK II spells by the time I decided to leave it. Loot was good however it became a major pita to manage. My gear is 'OK', not bad, but not good. Like I said I figure Abstruse is decent for my level.

I am in Feerrot now, it's good, but too many damn trees! Puller keeps getting stuck (even with MQ2Nav). Fought my way to what appeared to be a good camp from the 'air' but need to deforest a bit. Hmmm, that's what wizzies are for?!?

Wow sure is nice to loot Terror Infused instead of paying top dollar for it!

I cheesed this part of my heroic group and just pulled my 105 sk out of my main group and added him to the newbie group for a while (also using his 105 cleric merc). Obviously this is cheating a bit, but it's worked way better than the alternatives I was throwing around and saved some headache.
