Heya =)

I've new to MQ2, and for the past few days I've been using RGmercs (which works somewhat decently, but I want to customize my gameplay, so, say, the enchanter doesn't go ham with non-important spells in combat), because I can't get KissAssist to work.

I am testing KA on my level 32 mage and 32 shaman, and I use the https://www.redguides.com/community/resources/lvl-30-shm-ini-w-o-conditions-for-ka11.999/ ini, and the mage equivalent.

After connecting to EQBCS on my mage, I ran /mac KissAssist, to create the ini file. Macro ends. Then I edit the ini, and paste the ini from https://www.redguides.com/community/resources/lvl-30-mag-ini-w-o-conditions-for-ka11.1574/ ini, save it, target myself, type /mac KissAssist PetTank, and in the "Checking your ini file for errors" section, saying there's nothing defined. And then nothing happens, which doesn't surprise me, as to there apparently being nothing defined. No spells get memmed, no buffing takes place, no pet is summoned.

But why? What causes it (or not cause it)? Is there a step I missed somewhere?

Do you have MySpells section filled out? If you have the spell set you want to use loaded you can /memspells (I think) and it will write the currently scribbed spells to you INI if you do not have them yet.

After a lot of reading, I realized I was pasting into the wrong ini, the ini in the root folder (that I now believe holds settings to plugins). Pasting into the right ini, filename starting with KissAssist, inside the macros folder did the trick. :)

Sorry for the interruption.

Leaving this up in case someone else makes the same mistake as I did, in the future.

Thanks!
