I was going to wait for Sic to post his video, but on the first mission, you need to keep aggro on the Jaka that doesn't have the buff on him.

Use a puller and pull the illusions to you.

Oof, just tried this mission for the first time and got wrecked once the illusions popped. Ended up with too many adds.

Nice, I will try this. Did it last night and didn't get it. Was able to tank and spank "When One Door Closes" in ruins of shadow haven like zland/shei mission.

I reset this about 5 times before getting things to work. DPS isn't there to kill the illusions before he warps yet, but for the win i kept aggro on the boss and sent a toon out on horseback to pull illusions which may have stopped him from jumping away. We killed him while the illusion pull was incoming but wiped when the 3 illusions got to camp because they ganked the cleric 1st.

Ok, just tried a different way and won. Was a lot easier too.
So, this time when engaging the final boss, I just stayed on him the entire time. Switching only to take care of the occassional tiger. When he'd emote and the illusions popped, I just stayed on him and ignore the illusions. After a while, his HP will lock. Just keep on him. Eventually, he'll warp to one of the 4 spots. Just run up and engage again. Each time doing this, his HP will lock at each phase of the illusions (20% and then 7%). Saved burns for the final warp.

This can’t be the way they intended, just ignore them and sit on your hands? I wonder if this strat gains popularity, will they nerf it?

Killing the illusions is just meant to be a mechanic to do the event quicker, but the event itself is so fucked up (because of leashes) that noone bothers. Hp on illusions need to be reduced drastically, until the event is fixed: just stay on the real boss until it ports elsewhere, then go after him again, rinse and repeat.

so do you kill the real jaka down to 2% then the adds or what this mission is confusing as hell

This video helped me out a lot. The only thing I did different from the video was not move out of the red auras. Mostly cause my team is pretty well equipped the auras didn't hurt at all.

Also, at the end when the chest pops, be careful of the illusions still being up. They'll aggro and summon when you try to run by. I had to tank a couple and send another toon to open the chest to de-spawn them.

Tigers and 1 thug per round will be baned out of existance if you slow them :) AE slow is your friend :)

Tried it tonight with friends, will try it tomorrow on my own:

4 Jaks are up, each has two Thugs backing it up, one human and one vahshir. That makes for 4 sets of 3 mobs. The trick is killing them in the right order.

3 of the Jaks are marked with the permanent illusion buff - one is the Real Jak (no buff) -- you're supposed to kill the sets of mobs around the illusion Jaks first.

1 (the kitty) thug in each set will die / disappear if you SLOW it. The other one you just need to fight down - but it's important you kill the thug before Jak. If you kill the illusion JAK (very easy, very low hp, they basically pop if hit once usually) before killing the Thug, the Thug gets an upgrade and starts hitting harder and are more difficult to kill (became yellow cons, name changed, may be invincible for a bit?)

SO

Figure out which JAK is the real one. Leave that for last.

Always pull the thugs from outside leash range and let the illusionary Jak return (thereby removing the risk of accidentally hitting him early) while you slow / kill the thugs.

When thugs are dead, quickly pop the illusion and then move to the next location. Repeat for all three illusionary Jak sets.

You can take your time on the first two - after killing the third illusion you need to hurry to #4 or the whole thing can reset.

Final (real) Jak - Tiger spawns add... they go away when slowed, so basically you can ignore them if you're AE slowing regularly.

Additional notes:
Bard AE slow helps, or any AE slow. Just simplifies things. Single target works of course, but ... <shrug> I like to keep things as easy as possible.

When starting the mission (by talking to the sargent), if you're standing too far forward, you can get immediate aggro from the set of mobs just east of there. Make sure you're standing more on the bridge side and not out past the door. It's a little thing, but losing someone to that is frustrating.

Everytime we did it, real Jak was in the NE corner (spot "4") and the three fakes were West of entrance (spot 1), East of entrance (2), and then just north of spot 2 on the other side of the wall (spot 3, be ready when going through the door.)

There's not a lot of time between when you kill the third illusion and it resetting, plan your kill order so you're killing your third illusion close to the real Jak.

Aggro range is large. They all aggro pretty much on sight and at least on a few occasions saw through invis too - since they're the only mobs in the zone and you want to kill them, this isn't too bad, but be aware.

Depending on how long you take, real JAK may switch with an illusion Jak position, watch for that zone emote happening and stop to figure out how it changes things for you if it happens.

Final fight and him teleporting around can take a while. The Aura isn't bad, but avoid it by sliding around inside the tether range and then you really don't have to worry about it at all.

Slow event, not one I'll do over and over... but... doable.

I did this a few minutes ago. I found it to be much easier, although took some time.

1. I inspected the JAk, to find the real one.
2. Killed Clones, charged into them and killed
3. Ran to real JAK, DPS'ed down to 35, kept waiting until he reset to 100%
4. DPS'ed down to 22, kept waiting until he reset to 100%
5. DPS'ed down to 7, kept waiting until he reset to 100%
6. DPS'ed down to 0

No running around required, plain tank and spank.

AE slow on shaman, did not burn.

Exactly what I do.

Anyone have a strat for the achieve where you do not kill any of the thugs? The thugs are not mez or rootable.

Bane one and offtank the others I would guess, assuming the bane doesn't count as killing. That means you would have to deal with 4 total + boss, which is still no joke as they hit pretty hard. The mission is clearly broken, so I'm personally not bothering with Challenger in this one until its fixed and tuned properly.

I got all 3 on the first win. I just killed the fake ones and OT the trash until the name started. Shaman AE slow killed them and I still got credit.

Slow works as a bane for the tigers and half of the thugs. Mez does not kill them the way that slow does, I didn't even bother trying to mez because I knew slow would kill them.

yes that one works, really any slow on the tigers or certain thugs will despawn them. I haven't confirmed but someone else said even the tank belt slow procs work. I use the sham AA you referred to which will despawn them. Or the single target version if it's on CD. I believe the person that was talking about AE mez may have been asking as a bard since they can do both mez and/or slow. Bard AE slow does work for sure.

This pretty much is how I have been doing it as well. I set up hotkeys with waypoints for each spot originally to run them all to each spot, helpful but not needed. I check where the illusions are, run right in kill each spot off, have ae slow in the bard melody, and on the shaman set up on hotkey that is spammed while fight everything in the event so the others will poof here and there. Run to the real boss after 3rd one quickly or it will reset (wp hotkey helps) and keep on him at 22 he will reset to 100 just keep on him, at 7 he resets just keep on him when he resets the last time burn it. he does move around some when he resets so the hotkeys can help move bots. crap to get stuck on, normally have to hit a wp hotkey and sometimes a come to me if he moves to get everyone to him.

he real and the illusions do swap spots after a time along as there is one still up. If the real one is in spot 2 in the bottom right of the map by the passage through the wall when you start it makes it hard to get past him to the 3rd. Can wait for the swap emote and hope he moves, or just run past him out of aggro range and kill his 2 buddies who wont leash and then come back to him after finishing the illusions.

I have just been ignoring the burning soul emote but you can back out of it. It can be sort of hard to see the aura on the ground on the path way. Its bugged and hidden under the path model some times, and if you get far he leashes.

To get the Achv "Cut off the Head" do not kill any thugs, We had a Paladin Kite, no damage, self heal 4 of them (Shaman slowed killed the others, does not count against achv). The rest of the group completed the mission. Anyone else figure out a better way? Gonna be rough to do this one alone.

You do not get this achv for not killing those 4 thugs, you get it by not hurting the other 4 thugs that go, poof, when you slow them.

Do not hurt those thugs in any way. I have done this couple of times and gotten the achv.

Sorry guys I was wrong on this one, sorry to waste your guys' time.

Hmm, interesting...I am going to give this a try. Is there an easy way to know which one will poof from slow?

Not what I have seen. I just kite them around till they go, poof, this happens very fast.
Just slow both of them while running around.

Side Note: Remove any damage shields you have on your puller and his/her pet.

They poof without being slowed?

oops sorry, totally missed that somehow lol. Trying this now, keep forgetting about the dot and got my bard killed, I wish fade worked, it would be easy then.

I just tried this and did not get the achiev. The bane mobs never took any dmg before I slowed them with a non-dmg slow.

Miss Information. This is not accurate.

I have gotten this achievement on more than 1 occasion after accidentally killing thugs that go poof ( my surprise ).

Evidently from my limited experience what I have observed and repeated is this Cut Off The Head is exactly what it says!

This special challenge can be completed during the mission, Mean Streets.

Do not kill any of the thugs. Jakarashev has taken advantage of their passion.

The ones that go poof do not count in my experience . I have gotten this achievement while killing the last real Jakarashev, while the last 2 thugs had wandered back to camp, fake thug poofed as expected and real thug was ignored but on aggro and had taken DS damage but was still alive after Jakarashev had died. I still got the achievement. The other 3 sets of thugs were kitted away and I had killed the fake Jakarashev rather quickly so did not have to contend with them at all. ( perhaps the thugs that go poof had not been taken advantage of, who knows )

So in conclusion. this was my experience on more than one occasion. Take it for what it is worth and GOOD LUCK!

P.S. Your millage may very!

I have the achievement of killing those 8 and not harming the other 8. So that is that.

Do you realize we are playing in an event that is buggy as hell? I did it the other day, when did you do yours?
I know they are patching these up as they go.

I have to admit I am wrong on this one, sorry for wasting your time.

Unless they change it from the other day? Maybe I break it the way I do it or the other way around.
Who knows with all the ninja patching that they are doing?

I tried it again and it doesn't work, sorry for wasting your guys' time.

You can do the Thugs achi without any kitter or offtank if you leash the Thugs. You can Leash them by using many tricks, like kitting them far far away, cothing or zonning out. What you want to do there is kill fake thugs and bosses and leash real Thug/real boss. Then you restart and go to next camp. Thugs from camps you already cleared won't see invis, so you can go past them. Use the city streets at your own advantage to go past real boss if you don't want to aggro it before clearing all fakes.

This is really RNG based, if the real boss spawns on the north spot, It'll suck.
Also RNG is involved because the real boss will spawn somewhere else that may suck. Since last patch real boss now summons some of your group mates, so you must be quick before real boss kills whoever he summoned.

The easiest way of doing this is by leaving a mage by zone in to coth you back at start spot after each reset or Evaccing after each reset, then you run to the next spot you have to go while invised, so you don't aggro real Thugs. This way you don't have to deal with 2-3-4 Thugs that will be summoning you around.

For the "No you dont" achievement how to you prevent Jak from warping to his alternates?
I bet this is only done during phase 1, so all you have to do is kill fakes on phase 1 before any warp happens. The achievement doesn't mean Phase 2 warps while dealing with real boss.
