Guide - NOS - Mean Streets-Cut Off the Head-Achievement

Ok, this is a good strats to get Cut Off the Head Achievement.

My crew was SK, Shammy, Mage (must have), Necro, Cleric, and Bard.

1) Part 1: First thing is to get rid of the second thug on each of the four corners, without killing the Jaka dude.
This is what I did to get this part done:

Block mage DS off all my toons and pets.
I place a shammy close to the bridge, with the Sk kind of the middle distance, enough to be able to leech Jaka dude.
I place the rest of the crew way south down into the bend on the south of the bridge. in the tunnels. I made sure everyone is paused.
The mage has the mem group CoH.

SK pulls the thugs, just using visual agro, do not hit any of them, make sure the SK is paused and targets himself.
Pulls them back to the shammy, once there one will poof either by your belt or the shammy slows.
Once this happens, hit your button to have the mage group CoH you and the SHammy.

Button 1:
/dexecute yourmagename /cast call of the heroes

Do the two bottom ones. Rinse and repeat what you did the first time.

Hint, to do the second pair on top, I go under the bridge and walk all way to the other side, no one sees invis down there. Bring your shammy and repeat what you did on the first two.

2) Part 2: You want to kill two fake Jaka dudes, you want to pick the ones that do not have two of them in one spot.
This time rush in with only the shammy in a chase and kill the fake Jaka. Once he dies hit the CoH button. Your group can be standing on the bridge kind of close to the quest dude, just south of him.
Make sure everyone is paused, except shammy and SK. Do this two times to kill the fake Jaka dudes.

3) Part 3: This is the fun part. Need to make these buttons. Button two is insurance if anyone gets stuck. Do not include your SK and DO NOT INCLUDE your MAGE. The mage does only one thing in the whole event, and that is to Coh.
Also, the place mage is just south of the quest dude on the bridge and he stays there the whole time at this point of the event.

Button 2:
/dexecute toon1 /nav id ${Me.ID}
/dexecute toon2 /nav id ${Me.ID}
/dexecute toon3 /nav id ${Me.ID}
/dexecute toon4 /nav id ${Me.ID}

I use Bard invis is fast and easy.
Button 3:
/dexecute yourtooname /alt act 231

This is to remove invis for the whole group.
Button 4:
/dgzaexecute /makemevisible

I also created 4 nav points for the SK, that way he can get to the Jaka dudes, I just use the Nav UI to him around.
Created 4 nav points where the Jaka stands.

Have everyone in chase mode except for the Mage and Sk.
Now located the fake and the real, most likely they are going to be in the same spot. Kill the fake one first, if the second pops you need to find him and /Nav to his location.

Ok, you must pay attention now.

You must CoH each time if you need to move to a different location. You must be (SK) paused and target yourself before you get CoH.
After you get CoH, Bard invis the whole group and go find the Jaka dude. This whole time, your group is chasing you around invis. Once you engage the Real Jaka,
/makemevisible Do not ever target the thugs, if you do this right you will only have one thug at a time.

When Jaka gets to 22%,7% I pause the SK and target myself at this part. Make sure you have a dotter, dot the hell of the Jaka dude. That will buy you time when he poofs.
My necro died every time Jaka (summoned) poofed, but I rez him back and he did his duties, kept him busy till the group got there, the dots will cause a summon and buy your group time to reach him in time.

This works very well and gets intense when you CoH and try to find Jaka.

Please let me know if this helps.

It shouldn't be too much of a mystery where the real Jak teleports to. First, you should see it on your map via mq2map. Second, pets will follow him. Third, you can do /nav id ${Target.ID} and run straight to him.

Evac can substitute for CoH in a pinch.

Pets get CoH with you and you lose the target when you target yourself before the CoH. I didn't want Sk going to him without being CoH and being invis.
Pets going to the name without being Coh could drag the thugs? You have to lose that target and everyone assisting you at that time point.

Evac should work if the location is not far, I have not checked the spot where you land.

Yes, finding him is not hard, agreed. I just want to control when I go to him and do this with just the SK driving the whole event.

I guess you could do a multiline command. Coh>delay>Invis>delay>Target Jaka>delay> /nav id ${Target.ID} that should make things flow better.

Borrowed a friends mage and tried this, It was working great until the Flickering Images spawned on mage and killed him. How do you stop that from happening?

Are you placing the Mage just south of the quest dude on the bridge? The mage should not be getting agro. Moving him back more to the south.

Make sure the mage is not casting anything, paused?

South of the Sergeant or south of where Khala Dun Bokh spawn is? Mage has nothing running, i only have him standing there to CoTH when told.

South of the Sergeant - back on the bridge. Key agro would come when fighting in SW position and illusions run across the intersection with the bridge.

Be far enough back to avoid that

that looks pretty close to where i was at, i will try parking him back further.

What about residual agro?

I.e sk and shm get rid of the two fake jacs by your zone in point / NPC Sergeant Hujiid and the fake thug.

Mage summons.

Sk and shm only approx 200-350 units away - thugs just run and agro you ?

Tried again, mage was further than halfway on the bridge and him and bard still got eatan by a flickering image. they were just standing there doing nothing, waiting for mage to need to coh and bard to invis.

Could it be because there were 2 of them sitting there?

I had my bard with my group, only left the mage at the bridge.

If that bard is singing, he is bringing them to you, lol.

Exactly so you have to wait perhaps for agro to drop on sk / shm. Totem probably not practical because the risk is mission resets whilst waiting for agro to fade ?
I did not need to wait. I Coh, Invis, and ran to the next Jaka.

The bard wasn't doing anything, didn't even have aura on. he was just standing there waiting for CoHed toons to arrive. then i tell him to invis and selos. thats it.

I am going to try having him with the group this time, if i can get to that point again without something stupid happening. heh

One thing I did do, is to block the mage DS off all my toons and pets.

So as it turns out, if you have 2 or more characters standing together, the flickering images can spawn there, I moved the bard with and we didn't have any issues with mage getting killed. I would have completed it, if i had remembered to make the shm visible so he would heal =(

Thanks for the strat, once i stop making simple mistakes, i should finally have this achiev.

Need more practice...keep making minor mistakes, which turn major really quick in this one. heh

Thanks for the info! I did manage to get this done today after only 1 reset.

I got crazy lucky though, for some reason the mage died when i engaged real Jaka. Luckily he ported from spot 1 to 2, then spot 2 to 1. I only had to OT 2 thugs while killing him, which was no problem. I did almost kill a thug on accident though, which was scary being so close to completing.

So excited to be done with all the achievements for challenger, now i can just run missions the easy way and get loots! Also, finish leveling my cloaks heh.

Just got the thug cheevo by having a buddy help. 2 tanks (shd drivers), shm, cler, cler merc, rog. have the one whose dragging the adds around use the merc. you "can" die before attacking the last fake jaka to reset the thugs. zone back in, rez up at a safe location, and then engage real jaka. Let's you not drag around so many thugs while you slow kill the dude. burn down last jaka

Not to sound ignorant, but is it possible to just grab all the thugs and kite them around the bridge area while abusing pathing? Or will they either warp/leash or break some other mechanic?

I believe that is the hardest way to get this done, lol.

Using CoH is the friendliest way to do this with 1 tank.

We ended up straight up tanking the 4 thugs to get this done. Stupid amount of damage to soak up doing so, but gets the job done.

Something always went wrong using other methods, got fed up :p

This event is not so bad now. One thing is for sure, DPS is your enemy on this one.
Take it slow, and everything gets really easy.

Holy hell this achievement is a nightmare. Everything was going fine until his first port. Then it all went to shit. Group got scattered cause tank kept getting chain summoned by the thugs when trying to run to Jakarashev and they all got picked off cause chase mode had them running back and forth trying to follow wherever the tank kept getting bounce around to.

Did you target yourself and pause the tank before the jump? Make the assist from 98% to 95% that might help. Make sure you have no damage shield. those thugs will not summon if you were Coh's.

Get rid of the pets too. Need to be invis while running through the camps between jumps.

In this run, the real Jakar was at spot 4. So, I had all DS off. Everyone was on chase on my tank except my mage. I left him on the bridge. First, went to the 1st spot and killed Jakar. CoH'd the group and then ran to spot 2. From there, just killed each Jakar and then engaged the real one at spot 4. While fighting, I used my Bst to slow all thugs which removed some and left me with 3 to deal with. Once Jakar popped to spot 3, it all went to shit. I think some of the thugs got accidental ripostes from positioning. Before I could try and recover though. my cleric and bst died. Then it was pretty much an instant wipe.

When you engaged The real Jaka, you should have 4 thugs.

One located in each position.
Maybe you left this out, but did you Coh after he poofs at 22% and invis to him? You have to CoH every time he poofs, and invis the group.

If he is at 4 and pops 3, still CoH. You have enough time to run to him.

I didn't CoH after the first fake. Figured I'd pop glyph and tank it all to the end.

I finally got this today using the die method. Put my campfire in a good spot, killed the fake jakas, let the thugs kill everyone which reset the thugs, campfired back in, then killed the real jaka.

Now for the no you don't.

Are you saying using the die method and campfiring back in, Jak doesnt transport around anymore?

More info on this Die method please :)

He does teleport around in the second "phase", but to only two places, which means tanking 1 thug plus jaka at first port, then 2 thugs plus jaka at 2nd port, opposed to 4 thugs plus jaka the whole time. I don't have access to 2 tanks or a mage, so all the other methods weren't going to work for me.

It's essentially a poor man's coth, and drops aggro on the thugs after killing the fake jakas.

There has to be an easier way to this. Lately, what I've been doing is re-request the instance until I get a good starting position. (real is at spot 1)

- Kill off the 3 fakes.
- CoH group to the bridge.
- run to spot 1 to engage the real. During which my mage usually dies once from an illusion popping on him. Will campfire him back before the first warp though.
- Once he warps, I CoH group. Usually having some panic moments after to pause everyone and call back the group as they seem to want to run back to re-engage the thug that was aggro'd.
- After that's under control, invis and try to run back. (Last 2 attempts his first warp has been from spot 1 to 4. Longest run possible. Two results have happened from this. One, I died due to mishaps on some toons still paused after re-engaging. Some didn't get invis'd or it was dropped along the way. Two, ran out of time trying to do all of this and run to spot 4.
