Understanding NoKos

What is NoKos?
- Nokos does exactly as the name implies. Makes you No-Kos to everything in game.
The best analogy for NoKos, is think "Astral Projection", or Out-of-Body Experience.
With NoKos, you are projecting your ghost while your body remains, with all of it's physical limitations. I.e can be attacked by aggroable mobs, be hit by AE spells etc.

How does it work?
- Nokos tricks the game into thinking you are somewhere you actually are not. By issuing the /nokos command you essentially become a ghost. Please do not confuse this with "Ghosting".

Example: You zone into Walls of Slaughter. At zonein you issue the command /nokos.
The game now thinks you are standing at the zonein. No matter where in the zone you go. Trouble is, Everyone sees you where issued the NoKos command.

This fact is extremely important to keep in mind.

When NoKos is issued, your a ghost. You cannot be seen by ANYONE. SeeINVIS does nothing to aid in your detection. GM's cannot see you. ShowEQ cannot detect you. MySeq cannot detect you.

All of these means of detection see you at your last known spawn point. I.e where you issued NoKos.

What can you do while in NoKos?
- You can go anywhere, without fear of getting killed by mobs.
- You can open "UNLOCKED" doors, gates, etc.
- You can use "Instaclick" items. I.e Circlet of Shadow
- You can HAIL NPC's

What can't I do while in NoKos?
- You cannot cast spells, or otherwise effect NPC's or PC's.
- You cannot pick locks, or loot.
- You cannot get instances, or do turn-in's for quests etc.

Things to remember while in NoKos:

- If an aggroable NPC paths by the location you issued NoKos, you WILL get attacked and you will notice your life going down, but you will not see the "You have been hit for XXX amount of damage" message on your screen. Also to note, if you NoKos in a room of aggroable mobs, when you drop NoKos even in a safe area, the mobs will aggro and warp to your current location. Always find a "Safe Point" to NoKos.

- You cannot be targeted by other PC's for trade, or buffed etc. Obviously, if your guild sees you in this state and cannot target you etc, they may question what your doing.

What happens when you drop NoKos?

- Your physical body warps to your ghost, and you are whole again. Can be seen if not invised, can be seen if invised and others use SEEINVIS, and you become targetable, viewable in MYSEQ, and ShowEQ. This looks like a warp. For intents and purposes... this is a warp. I don't personally care if the server sees it as a warp, as much as what everyone sees ingame. When you drop NoKos, it looks to everyone around you, that you warped. Keep this in mind.

Aggro and NoKos

Keeping in mind the basics of NoKos, you can really use this as a invaluable tool.
Personally, as a necro or shadowknight using the Circlet of Shadow, you have the ability only one other class has. "Fading Memories". The bard pulling tool.

Simply pull the mob you want, instant invis, and then, nokos. You only aggro the mob you pulled, and you can use the standard bard fade techniques.

When you issue nokos after getting aggro from an NPC, you only have aggro from any of the NPC's that aggroed you when you weren't in NoKos form. Other NPC's will not aggro. In this situation, standard aggro rules apply. You can still be summoned, if you get outside aggro range the mob will stop chasing you, etc etc.

But don't forget, your body is still where you NoKos'ed. Any mobs that path back once you drop NoKos, will aggro you again, and warp to where you currently are.

Lastly, do not get aggro, nokos, then warp succor.

They WILL follow you. You've been warned.

All in all NoKos can be somewhat buggy, play with it, keep these guidelines in mind, and most importantly have fun!

But don't be an asshat. :D

I have the easy version of it, I'll post it. It'll be called MQ2EZGhost.

You forgot to say don't be a fucking retard and set up points in walls and crap. That is just saying Hi, I warp please petition me, or come ban me Mr. GM.
