Greetings Norrathians,
The team has been hard at work crafting new content and improvements throughout the year, but it’s finally time to start talking about this year’s expansion! While we’re still working through all sorts of development mischief, we are excited to announce EverQuest’s 25th expansion, EverQuest: The Burning Lands!
We’ve traveled far and wide across Kunark, but for now we’ll be leaving Kunark behind as we go a bit more… elemental. It’s been a little while, but it’s finally time to head back to the Planes! The expansion name might give you some clues, but let’s just say that air and fire will play a big role in your upcoming adventures. I don’t want to give away too much yet, but only the most daring will be able to successfully navigate the upcoming conflict!
It’s no secret to the EverQuest team that I love snails, so I’m thrilled to give you a sneak peak of one of the new monsters you will encounter along the way! This little guy looks a little hot… so I might be wary of getting too close!

From new monsters, zones, items, raids, and more, we can’t wait for you to return to the Planes, but you’ll have to wait a bit longer for additional information! Be sure to stay on the lookout for more announcements about the upcoming beta, pre-orders, features, and other expansion news. We are happy to say that EverQuest: The Burning Lands is scheduled to launch this December.
In the meantime, don’t forget that EverQuest: Ring of Scale is currently on sale at 50% off until pre-orders begin for our new expansion! The option to purchase the Collector’s or Premium Edition of EverQuest: Ring of Scale won’t be available after pre-orders for EverQuest: The Burning Lands begin in October!
Fall Fun is also returning soon! Kicking off in the beginning November, Fall Fun will bring you bi-weekly bonuses leading up to expansion launch. This includes increased bonus experience, faction bonuses, rare spawns, and more.
We’ve got even more coming your way and we can’t wait to see what you think. As always, we’d like to thank each and every one of our players for your continued support. We couldn’t do this without you!

Happy adventures and see you in Norrath!

Was this taken from the official forum? I haven't looked yet myself but this does sound cool. PoP was one of my favorite XP's while I was still playing.

A snail? Seriously? What the fuck?

Guess the new primary weapon will be rock salt.

For fucks sake... is that the best they could do?

I personally feel the snail is a nice model, and it shows a bit of creativity on their end at the very least... unlike the murkglider illusion we recently received.

Seems to fit with what the ex-DBG employee leaked.

Everquest will have one last expansion. The 20th anniversary will introduce a series of nostalgic raids that tie into complex quests. These quests can be done in order to grant alternate characters powerful scaling weapons.

Planes of Power raids are pretty nostalgic. If there are 'powerful scaling weapons', well, there you go.

What's the chance they are going to raise the level for AA autogrant with the new Expac?

Is the rumor true that its 2 -group content? Some of you that kiss the developer's asses and got into alpha cause of it let us know already!

Really not a fan of content being made around 2 groups though. i.e. Veeshan's Peak.

I definitely don't feel like doing x2 group progressions.... or more importantly.... paying for 12 expansions.

Fucking snails! Sold! I'm going to have to update eq and get back. Planes were my favorite expansion of all time, so I'll definitely be updating and forking over a lions share of money to update all my boxes.
