Question - New 6bx from lvl 1 on Live and/or Rizlona, CWTN or Kiss/Mule?

As the subject mentions, would the respective CWTN plugins be good to use while leveling, even from scratch or would it be better to level with basic Kiss/Mule templates until a higher level, this goes for both Live (FV) and on Rizlona? It seems the CWTN plugins do seem to have "leveling" functionality to utilize what you have for your level if you will but I am not 100% sure and still a fledgling user of Mq2 and trying to figure it all out through various videos and trial by fire.

I am a software developer/support by trade so the coding and config aspect is not an issue, at least not once I understand more of the syntax and structure of things.

Thank you all in advance!

I have found that the CWTN plugins are substantially better for leveling and otherwise. If there is something very specific you need to do, it might be better suited for a macro, but overall for leveling, the CWTN plugins are so much more responsive and effective.

the cwtn plugins are designed to function for all lvls 1 - max lvl, and automagically adjust as you level up / get new spells / aas. Some of the demands / user desires for lower lvl stuff isn't something we innately do - like we use Complete heal - but we don't have baked in complete heal chain functionality, for example.

These plugins are also designed to work "out of the box" with minimal setup or configuation and part of that comes with the innability to adjust things to a granular level like you might want to and are able to do with kiss/muleassist.

You can always fire up on the test server with your VV and give the cwtn class plugins a try before purchasing a license for live.

Thank you both for the quick replies and definitely thank you @Sic as your videos have already helped out a massive amount in getting things moving at this point. Will have to look into the test server and see how things play out.

CWTN from level 1. They work excellent, I have leveled.. 3 clerics, 2 war, 5 bst, 7 zerkers, 2 SK's from 0 to 115 on them. They do like to yell at you when your missing a spell they expect, so pre buy the spells, set them to whatever mode (hunter tank, rest on chase is my fav).

Old friends come back, or somebody makes a alt, i make some to hang out, then i have spare time, so i just let them level and AA while i make another group (18 accounts). The CWTN works amazing for the supported classes... Love to Xgen and Mule and RG for the other classes, but yeah... CWTN is best out of box set ive seen.

I will say tracking them all is a nightmare, I had to make an excel sheet to track the gear, progression, augs, who has what PP..

TL;DR CWTN is best if your class choices are supported.

Until about 30 on Live you could probably get by with a blank ini. On Rizlona that's probably 15. But the nice part about CWTN and RGMercs is that you don't have to stop every couple levels to redo your ini.

This is more prominent on Live where low levels fly by and you get a ton of abilities and spells. It's less prominent on early TLP (like Rizlona) where there are not as many options.

One of the things I really enjoy is just fiddling with the settings. It's not for everyone, but I like a lot of control over what my characters are doing and when, so configuration is actually part of the fun for me. If that's something you enjoy then getting started at low levels on Rizlona is less of a barrier to entry than trying to start at high levels and figure everything out. It becomes a "learn as you need" versus "learn all at once".

For low levels on Live I'd pick something that does it all for me since they fly by. On Rizlona I would probably pick something I can configure more because I enjoy that aspect.

The TLDR is find out what you enjoy and do that. If you want it to "just work" then CWTN/RGMercs are your path, if you want to tinker then something like KissAssist/MuleAssist let you play with the fiddly bits. There's a lot of good options.

One of my largest gripes was my SK would not engage all the time. When this happened if I arrowed forward to move the SK a few steps it would engage as expected, this made me have to set my Monk to the tank just to ensure things were picked up and my healer/support did not get slaughtered.

Since the initial post above, I picked up Mq2EsKay and I must say that all those problems are gone instantly. The SK is now fast and extremely responsive. I will likely pick up some of the others but I wanted to ensure the tank was solid to start with and now I have that. Kudos to @ChatWithThisName

I'd say if you are a software developer by trade, I'd opt for anything but CWTN personally. I'll be the odd man out and say I don't care for them very much. I like to play the game, and for me that involves having control over what and how my characters do what they do. If you're looking to just ignore 1-3 of your characters and forget about them then they are great plugins. But they don't have all classes, so you'll be dealing with one of the other macros anyways.

I agree, for ease of use the cwtn plugins are great, many good features, well done, well maintained, with that being said, like sumon said, I have to agree. As a developer you will always find other methods to have more control over your toons. I personally love modified macros and plugins to do exactly what I want. Either way, there are lots of options digging through the forums. :)
