never attune "attuneable/evolving" weapons

Noticed this today and equiped an attuneable item without attuning it. I had a blade of the eclipse (evolving sword) that I was leveling had it bandoliered from 1-6 ( at which it is dropable). When I finally got it to lvl 7 it turns to an attuneable item and unequips. Well if you still have it bandoliered you can just use the bandolier and it will equip without ever attuning.

Nice, wish I knew this earlier though lol, tons of weaps I've gone through that are attunable that are rotting in my bank :p

How do you get it on your bandolier without equipping it ? Does the bandolier remember the previous versions?

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I've never owned an evolving weapon.
 
They do not start off attuneable. So you equip it normally and then bandolier it. After it reaches a certain point (last step for Blade of the Night Sky) it becomes attuneable.

Using the bandolier trick just lets you avoid having to re-equip it manually and therefore bypasses the "Do you wish to attune this item" dialog box.

If you buy an evolving item that has already become attuneable then this will obviously not work for you :)

So far I haven’t found a way to test this. None of the INIs seem to contain the bandolier information. You have to equip the items in game to make a bandolier. Also the game one let you put an aug on a piece of equipment if the result is something you would be unable to use. The only way I can think to test this would be to have a Primary/Secondary/Ranged that had a required level on it. Level yourself until you just hit that required level make the bandolier and then de-level.
 
Bandolier is Server side.

E.g : make a bandolier on one computer , go to next computer..surprise your bandolier is also there...

So you won't be "hacking" bandolier anytime soon.

Unless you figure out the packet for creating one and input your own information...
 
Wrong the packet is all server side...All we re doing is ask the soe server a set for the bandolier..

Look the picture below as proof.

The structs are very easy to decode

So you aren't going to hack the sets anytime soon, unless you are doing a felony by hacking SOE servers.

As with everything else in the game pretty much. No matter how many times it's been said it just doesn't get through.
 
Yeah and the last packet being obviously an animation packet..(which won't do anything much apart to change the looks of what you are carrying );
 
I don't know changing graphic of what you holding could be pretty sweet. Equip to rusty short swords looks like duel wielding sk epic would be pretty hawt imo.

There is a way to equip a shield and a 2hander and get the stats from both not sure how my friend did it but claims he doesn't know either. I took pictures he is wielding sk epic one hand and the other has his shield equiped. I know he uses mq but I am confident he didn't do it on purpose as he would have told me.

Have screenshots and everything of the event but I tried about everything I could thin of to get it to work.
 
If you create a bandolier as a shroud, does that carry over to the character?
 
Rofl, you don't need packeting to bypass bandoliering, there's alot of things you cannot do with packets, and there is a whole lot more you can do with detours and changing the function into something else..

Mess with EQ_Character_Bandolier_Confirm, and you will get it.

I am sure if you can write a sniffer, you can find where EQ_Character_Bandolier_Confirm is stored in memory and alter it unless you get l33t plugins from someone.

Packeting is only really good for switching out sent static # or pulse # with other bytes using a on call API, anything else can be done with detours by itself.

Btw what mandrak said is true, messing with packets for bandolier just request's a set and altering it will yeild you nothing, however since you want to equip one that requires memory altering.

If you are able to do what I stated above I recommend keeping it to yourself, otherwise well you won't be bandoliering Seru's 1hs for a long time.

I wouldn't use this one. A guildie of mine got suspended and almost banned for using this exploit.
 
how did they catch it? i'm confused ... unless he was bragging about it and got petitioned by a concerned eq'r
 
99% of the people are caught cause they are guilded, and their own guildies /report them.
 
Ok how about this? mq2melee when used with the mq2exchange and mq2bandolier plugins has the option to equip some weapons for you all you need to do is assign it with /melee main=ITEMNUMBER so if the Swords ID is 81675 you would /melee main=81675 and go get into melee with something. It might possibly equip that weapon for you without you doing it? This might also bypass the "Want to equip this attunable item?" Check. Not sure just a hypothisis. I am sure someone could check it
 
Well dangit I dont have an attunable weapon to try it on, but melee does infact equip what you tellit to via the ID number. Part we need to know is if it will act like the bandolier adn bypass the Attune message

And you high end rollers that got 17 billion of them falling out your ass or the means to farm 10 morein 2 or 3 minutes, could very well try it out instead of ....nevermind **Happy Thoughts** Someone just try it out please

Cause if I had the means I would have tried it allready and posted weather it would work or not......Oh wait I get it . It DOES work and that was just an attempt at subterfuge so people will not look that direction and get it nerfed to fast... <Whispers> I get it shhhhh.. forget I said anything

hey mandrack, how are you viewing the packet data with your packet sniffer? I put MQ2DoCracks memory viewer code into mine but it cuts off 0's and stuff :(
