I can't write code but I had an idea for a plugin that I think would be both useful and easy to make. It would use the server_character.ini file in the mq2 root to preform a eq or mq / command upon entering the world or upon zoning.
Uses:
Getting your online friends at login
Configuring loaded MQ2 plugins per toon
Auto hide familiars upon zoning
Chat channel Mangement - edit a file instead of trying to recall that channel password from 3 years ago to edit /autojoin once again

Honestly, its mostly the 2nd that made me think of this while looking for an existing solution, and if I missed one, please let me know:confused:

I tried using mq2events after looking more, how ever using the Welcome to Everquest! text on log in never triggers for some reason.

Put a file named servername_character.cfg in your MQ2 folder (not your macros folder). Whatever commands are in there will be run when that character is logged in.

From the MQ2 manual:
AutoExec.CFG
Executed on the first pulse

CharSelect.CFG
Executed when you are put at character select

server_character.CFG
Executed when this character enters the world

mapshortname.CFG
Executed when you zone into this zone

pluginname-AutoExec.CFG
Executed when this plugin is loaded (after its initialization is complete)
