Question - MQ2 Melee, turn attack off?

Is there an option I can adjust that will let me turn attack off when I am targeting something that I have already been attacking?

melee=0 turns all the melee abilities like bash/kick off.

Was looking for a way to make an easy hotkey to send to all my melee toons to stop attacking at once. Wanted to use /bca //attack off but MQ2Melee turns it right back on. Is there a way to use all of MQ2melee features, but still be able to turn attack off at will with de-targeting?

not sure if this helps as I have not used it for this before, and unable to test at the moment, but it may be worth trying

Optional Global INI File

MQ2Melee also has 3 global (not character specific) parameters that can be set in a second, optional INI file. MQ2Melee uses default values for these parameters unless it finds a file named MQ2Melee.ini that you created in the same directory. Here is an example of a MQ2Melee.ini file and a description of the parameters:

[Settings]
SpawnType=10
MeleeKeys=z
RangeKeys=x

SpawnType: 0 + all desired target type modifier: (+1 PC) (+2 NPC) (+4 PC PET) (+8 NPC PET) (+16 PC CORPSE) (+32 NPC CORPSE) default is 10 (0 for base + 2 for NPC and + 8 for NPC PET).
MeleeKeys: Melee Attack Key (not same as eq please unless you like problems) default is z.
RangeKeys: Range Attack Key default is x.

will the melee attack key turn it off, or is it only a turn on function?

hitting the melee key turns it off, but mq2melee automatically turns attack back on, unless I first untarget the npc.

Pressing Z for me turns off attack while using MQ2Melee. If you're using KA as well, you'll need to clear your MA's target and either issue a /switch command or clear your target on the toons you want to stop attacking.

Interesting this seems to work.

How do I broadcast just Z in /bca?

hihi, do you have that optional MQ2Melee.ini file in your MQ folder? Or is this a function that is built in to the default mq2melee? (sorry, at work right now, unable to check/test)

I don't have a mq2melee.ini and those settings aren't visible at all in my character ini's. I'm fairly sure Z is the default mq2melee attack key. I can use it to initiate and end combat with mq2melee, and I've never fiddled with the keybind settings for mq2melee.
