Updated EQ Might info.

I'm really digging it lately. It's worth a look.

Also denoted some servers with "Active Development", being servers that I know are still expanding content.

Some emu have fallen by the wayside (THF, etc) content wise but are still very playable today. They just don't seem to be updating much.

I only edit what I personally know so could use the help if anyone else has specific and recent knowledge.

Updated due to server closures.
I will readd servers that have announced a temporary shudder when they reopen (or someone else can!)
Removed non-friendly servers, as this is a MQ friendly list. Trying to distill this a little so we can add more info about servers that are friendly. Edit: Also not trying to give free advertisement to servers who aren't MQ friendly XD)
I will scrub the emu lists and do more updating soon.

Good shit bro

EQ Might is the hidden gem of EMU in 2025 IMO.

I have played, explored, or researched many servers, and there are some other great ones (Laz comes to mind)... But this one takes the cake for me.

This one is just has an incredible amount of thought and attention, with great QoL (auto-MGB group buffs, anyone? How about most bard songs being raid-wide?).

There are two viable progression paths (solo/duo, and group), and doing one of them doesn't make the other ones worthless. They have unique loot and rewards.
Later on, there are even 3-PC "intense" challenge modes of the same instances. I play 12 (which is the limit outside of town), and if I don't feel like it some days, I can simply take 2 or 6 out and get things done, still get loot, etc. 6 can reasonably complete 95% of content.
Some (but not all! There is a variety) of the very top end bosses may require 24-36, but as new content is released, that number tends to be power crept a little for the older stuff.

Doing content with less people or at a lower level than recommended (thereby lowering your group's "Might" value) can give you buffs to get you by, and bonus loot chances.

AA are commonly rewarded for first-time completion of progression bosses, lessening the grind, but a little AA farming is still definitely a thing, especially at 65 plus. However, XP potions are server wide, so I generally just do that when someone pops one! (I intend to start popping my own for others, soon :) )

Progression for expacs such as PoP and GoD is still roughly followed, but there are places where the painful parts have been eased.
Trash mobs may not be KoS, alternate events may be available to get some quest items, or some of them may even be available on a vendor as a skip for in-game currency (which is only earned in-game). There are some instant catchup methods along the way if you want to add more toons or change your setup.

No drop items and in-game currencies are tradable by PCs on the same IP (there is a scaling in-game currency cost for the xfering no drops, it is primarily intended to correct looting mistakes).

Aww dude I could say more but this is turning into a wall of text! I guess I'm even more excited about it than I thought.

Anyways... If you enjoy a challenge, QoL, and a pathway to (re)experience content from start and well past DoN for some instances, give it a look!

P.S- RGMercs has EQM configs ;). That's how much I love it!

EZ server more or less just told us to piss off, so they were removed (again) from the list.

EQMight does look pretty interesting, thanks for the info and endorsement Algar. I don't know when, but when I am looking for something different than Project Lazarus, I'll definitely give EQMight a try.

EZ Server has updated their stance on MQ and Automation/program use. New rules summed up from their discord:

The use of MQ is welcome on EZ Server. However, AFK Farming and use of warp plugins are not tolerated. Whether you prefer to manage game play through macro's like Pubise's spam macros, or automate your background characters with E3N, RGMercs, KissAssist, or another similar system, the prevailing rule is that you must be at the keyboard and directing the actions of your lead character.

LOL did you have a hand in that?

Profusion openly allows afk play/farming. The server has built in systems for custom personal instances so what is done inside your own instance is on you. Just no active hacks such as ghost kill and other bad forms. But, warping, afk completely allowed.

Hasn't been mentioned in this thread but ultimate EQ is back, with a new tier of progression in the works also.

Ascendant says, "But unattended, fully automated, /AFK gameplay is not allowed, and it will be addressed."

So they allow MQ but they don't want people AFK killing. That always makes me wonder how much AFK you are allowed, like if you have to logout every time you need to pee? :P Also I guess people with pets can AFK kill but people without pets are outta luck.

I love the PEQ Grand Creation server a lot, you can use MQ however you want on there. Except for warping. Most people boxed 18-24. But not sure where that server stands these days as it was run by Akk who left the scene. I think someone else took over but their website is down so who knows. I would probably play on EQ Titan instead now, that server was always very similar to PEQ.

In my reading, PEQ is one of the most restrictive servers with MQ use, still uses mq2 and an approved list of addons, not MQ friendly at all.

As far as Ascendant, you should ask there I guess? That stuff almost requires lawyers because everyone has different definitions of afk... But then again, it seems the rule you quoted is pretty clear to me (ofc, that's the problem lol)

You might be right about PEQ. It felt like a big free for all sandbox when I played, everyone running their own raids. But everyone used a version of E3 with only specific addons allowed. Ascendant allows VV/KA at least, they just don't want warping or AFK farming. But it's still nice to have MQ, I wouldn't want to loot a zillion corpses without it!

Maybe it is my playstyle, I have never been interested in TLP or Progression servers because I did it the first time and a few times since so why repeat old content? I enjoy current content.

What/why is there a draw/push to EMU servers?
Is it cause it's free?
Everything is allowed (basically)?
No chance of ban?

The push is that the main developers of MQ stepped away from supporting live and test. They are focusing their support for Emu servers. The reason they stepped away is that it has become significantly more complicated to decipher and build appropriate protections to ensure MQ works and is as safe as it can be.

Another group has taken up the mantle to support live/test so it is receiving support now.

Emu servers aren't TLPs, most of them are customized away from that. Some of the content could be rehashed but in different ways... Some could have content never seen on live.

In addition to that, server admins are free to use any zone or asset supported by the rof2 client.

There are many custom adventures in zones that go beyond DoN. We get a whole series of heroic adventure like things, instances, raids, quests, etcetera that are custom and never happened on live.
