Awhile ago I was under the impression that the mount speed doesn't necessarily depend on which mount you are riding, rather it is based on the fastest mount you have on your keyring. However, with a new character not too long ago, I got one of those bridles from Bazaar, and then I got a faster one from a heirloom transfer from another character. The result is that the horse mount was stil as slow as it was even with both on the same keyring. Am I missing something? Did they change how that worked? I even placed the fastest mount in the effects portion of the keyring too. No change when using the slower mount.

I always thought it was the mount permanent buff that controlled the speed. I use the mount, then dismount and leave the permanent buff. Maybe the faster mount did not activate the permanent buff?

Are you talking about the "Mount Blessing". If so, not sure. I didn't try that. Although I specifically remember reading many posts somewhere about how you just have to have the fastest mount to always get the fastest run speed.

it will be dependant on what mount you have dragged and dropped into the 'stat mount' slot at the bottom of your mount keyring window.. those are the stats that "any" mount will use thereafter..

Also, similar rules apply for both the Illusions tab as well as Familars tab.. so just pick the one thats best (for you) and drop in that slot..

note, some illusions will give different buffs that can stack with others.. so you may have to mess with this sometimes..

I tried this as I stated in my post. Did not work. Only thing this did was make sure I got the stat buff from that particular mount. Further, if I put a "flying" mount in that portion, and used a non-flying mount afterwards, it doesn't seem to grant permanent levitation either. I bet that levitation and speed may be linked perhaps?

Now that I take a closer look, the "Mount Blessing" actually may not have anything to do with the movement speed.

Now I'm curious as well as this alt toon has 3 and not sure which one it uses;

Yeah, if I actually use the mount, I get the speed every time. As soon as I switch to a different mount, I get THAT speed instead. Bummer. I was hoping it was as I had remembered reading about.

Yeah the only thing that persists would be the buff thats granted and appears in your buffs window.. unfortunately for some stuff, its a worn effect, and then as soon as you unmount/take it off, you lose that effect... and in your case, the runspeed you want..

just dump mounts, get a bard! friend for life!

Yeah I have bards in my groups. But a couple of them I do not. So thought I could do this to mix things up :)

  • All mounts will now run at the speed of the fastest mount you have used. You may need to re-use your fastest mount in order to teach the others how quickly to run.

Or are you looking at your actual velocity while moving forward?

Top speed you can get normally with bard selo's accelerato is 88 miles per hour... then you will kick the flux capacitor in...

I think the top speed mount is just slightly below that..

at least this way you're measuring an actual measured value as opposed to description or anecdotal stuff..

Ah okay! I will give this a shot. Excellent reference. Thank you!

You should be getting the fastest. What are the two mounts your talking about?

It could be the meaning of "fast" and "faster" and "very fast" since those were jumbled up

Yes I know I am not getting speeds mixed up. I am actually measuring actual velocity when moving.

Yes actually looking at velocity

Its looking like a bug unless there is something else not mentioned here.

So Dreadmare should be in your stat box and if you click it you will get the Azia buff which is +250 and perm buff so you can click off the mount itself and the stats stay

Your maximum mount run speed is based on the fastest mount you have ridden, not what's in your stat box or just on the keyring or inventory. When you get a new mount, summon it and ride it around a flat zone for about 30 seconds. Then stick it in the keyring and use it when you want that mount look.

What is your character velocity when running without a mount? That could be affecting it just like the bard's songs would also affect your mount speed or certain detrimental buffs or weight.

Moving forward - a 75 velocity mount can be gotten fairly easy a couple ways and once you have that it makes all this null.

1. Go get a Gold Ticket from the loyalty vendor in PoK or from a player vendor in the bazaar. These are lore so you have to do them one at a time.
2. Go to King's Court Casino (in Shadow Haven)
3. Turn in ticket to Jacob Thornblade.
4. You can win one of 8 items; the Glowing Black Drum is the one you want.
5. Keep handing in Gold Tickets until you get it, hang on to any of the list below. All are lore so once you get one of them the next ticket will get you something different. Just keep handing in tickets til you get the mount.

If you get a message that the wheel is not spinning/jammed. That is because it landed on one of the items you already have in your bags

You can increase your chances of winning the GBD on the first try, if someone (in your guild or on your server) will lend you the following:

1. Fungus Covered Great Staff
2. Holgresh Elder Beads
3. Rubicite Breastplate
4. Scimitar of the Mistwalker
5. Ton Po's Bo Stick of Understanding
6. Vibrating Gauntlets of Infuse

If you have all 6 of those items in your bags, then the only 2 items left that you can win are either the aforementioned mount, or Guise of the Deceiver, which is a Dark Elf clicky.

Many players have the "casino mount kit" and will loan it out sometimes.

The other easy one is the Seru mount.

And coming up on Anniversary is

Whirligig Flyer Control Device is 12th anniversary and fairly easy - someone on each server has to start the thing and then its open for anyone 24/7. High level folks will come and leave lots of the stuff just laying there for others to get.
