Monster Mission AFK Exp macros. A Warning.

Hi guys!

Ok I am letting you guys know this warning in advance, so what happened to me dont happen to you.

Background story:

I have 2 different monster mission macros written, for two different monster missions. I run 6 toons!

1. Is for 5 or more players
2. Is for 3 players with 2 or 3 in mission getting exp, so I can use my other 3-4 toons to play.

Number 1 is not being disclosed, I have used it for a year now and no problems. Sorry, but I wont jeopardize my accounts.

Number two was a naggy mission macro, which I loved. It allowed me to do other things while running exp in the background.

I had macro 2 for about 6 months, maybe 8 and no problems. One day I find three toons banned 2 that were in the mission, another that wasent logged on in a week, but was on the same credit card.

After some searching on the web pages I visit, Fry over at MMOBugs had written a similar macro, everyone flocked to use it. I didnt know this at the time. But, because this macro was released to the public and I had one for the same mission I got caught and 3 accounts banned.

My Warning:

If you see a monster mission macro posted, DONT USE IT!! Once a macro like this available to the masses and its being widely used red flags can and WILL go up!! If you never listened to me before listen to this warning, so you dont have the same happen to you.

Me personally I will post any macro I make except the ones I write for afk exp in monster missions or afk exp in a specific spot. This will get people banned if you do.

I am not being paranoid, I am not saying this so people dont get afk exp. If you want a monster mission macro, write your own for one no one macros and keep it to yourself.

much better 'warning' than turk's "warning". at least nijhal gave a reason for not doing something and evidence to back it up (if you have mmobugs membership) whereas turk basically just said "don't do it cause i say so and people i know say so, people you can't possibly know"

(yes i know this might open up a war against turk's previous 'followers' lol)

more on topic: any afk macro for mms has always been 'dangerous' in that you could get suspended or banned for using it, even if you only used it once, or if you went months undetected and then got caught. i had an account banned for lsmm third time i used it. as you said, nij, it is most likely due to the macros being available to the masses.

Good post and ty for the info nijhal. This has actually been known for a very long time though. Most people have long forgotten about them by now and stopped using them (or at least admitting to still using them). One of the biggest banning rampages sony went on was after quite a few of these afk mm macros were made public here and on other sites. There were dozens and dozens of afk people parked outside MM instances all day every day and really screwed it up for everyone else. Like you, there are a select group of people out there that still run them because they wrote them themselves. Like you, I refuse to make public the one that I wrote. I use it from time to time, but not very often anymore due to the chance it takes on bannage. Any macro that takes advantage of blatent hacks (warp, ghost,etc) that are made public are quick to get nerfed and get people banned. I'm not saying these macros should not be posted public. That is the writers choice. Often other great ideas come from seeing these macros and improving on them.

I still laugh a great deal when I still see people using the afk task macros. After all the tons of bans from it, people still use it and then complain when they get banned LOL. They move their /loc for getting the task so people do not see them. Unfortunately that does nothing for when people happen by and hear someone saying "task" yet they are nowhere to be seen LOL.

It's been said here over and over though........
Don't take the risk if you are not willing to lose it all..........
