Ever wanted to raise a tradeskill but found you don't have enough money to do it? Well, I've found out something that will help you get money and raise your tradeskills.

Money: How to get it
--------------------
Ok, to get money for items for tradeskills or just for items, there are two main places where you will get loads of money!

The first place is Rathe Mountains, the giants there drop a lot of platinum and sometimes drop things that sell for some good money. Just stay there for about an hour and you'll have around 1k or more. Also, since the Frogloks moved in, the giants were moved. Look on the map for Thomas, the Paladin GM. The giants are around there, just be sure not to run into the GM and take out any Orc Priests around there because they will heal those giants.

The next place is Dulak's Harbor. The mobs there drop plenty of jewels and other items that sell for good platinum. The main items you want for money are the Mithril Amulets which sell for about 98 platinum each, you may want to pick up the Pearl Necklaces too because they sell for 4 plat each. Shamans can also pick up the meat that the mobs drop for potions that they can sell. There are also named mobs. You can't sell the items for big money unless it's really good but you can still make a couple hundred if people decide to twink their alts.

Tradeskills
----------
For tradeskills, use the above methods to get money for supplies or you can just go kill stuff. Tailoring: Kills bears, Rockhoppers, etc for hides, fletchers can kill stuff to drop the bow staves and so on. Now, unless the items are really good or you really need them, sell them to merchants. Like fletchers, sell your arrows back if you don't need them. At my skill, I make Class 1 Steel Hooked Arrows. They cost me about 58 plat to make and if I make about 85-100 arrows, they sell back for about 60 or so plat.

How to keep your money
------------------------
You see a shiny new sword you want but you love to go spend all of your money on other things? Heres how you save that money:

1. Only buy things if you need them, save that money for something else.

2. Look for useless items just rotting away in your bank. Sell them to people or merchants.

3. Snatch some money from an alt or two. If they have any money, place it in the shared bank and use that.

4. Buy stuff in the bazzar that's cheap but not too cheap and re-sell it for more.
------------
That's what I've found to be helpful. Enjoy =)

this does seem like somethign one would expect to see in the Free submission forum. But it is always nice to see people at least trying to help the community. Please dont turn this into a flame thread, I hate pulling out the MEGO ERASER to clean things up

yeah, a lot of ppl seem to be short on money (somehow -.-) so i was just tryin to help out a little =)

IGE is my hero
(the preceding has been a paid endorsed advertisement brought to you by IGE)

another good AFK/MACRO way to get your plat .....

use Velium Hunter and go to Greatdivide.. in a few hours you can have BAGS and bags of Velium pieces.. they sell nice...

Also mq2autoforage ... if your not AFK macroing... set up some FORAGE bots .. i found druids work good... even noob ones... their forage skill is only 50 .. but its enough to get you going....

there are lots of zones with forage drops that Tradeskillers need...

if you happen to have a higher level druid or ranger... some of the pop zones have nice forage stuffs...

Get 3 toons and get a EF LDON... and forage in the instanced zone... lemming furs sell well.

Tenibrus mountains.. the grimling caves... the etched runes.. sell for a nice bit of PP... some up to 5PP each ... and they stack .. which is nice.

just a few CP from me

8-)

oh one more... add fishing to your list of stuffs to make money and work skills...

Fish PoS ... the fish there are a good source of working baking over 200..

Fish colbalt Scar.. the cod.. make oil which sells nice..

PoN/PoV there are a couple of safe spots.... will have to get the LOCs.. to get the fish for the fishermans companion... you can sell them cheap in bazaar and make some quick cash ..

OOT - fish and save the foam .. sells for human cultural ..

2 more CP from me

Edit* found it

Edit* Clockwork grease sells very well on my server if anyone looking for a specific forage item. Found in PoI, can forage about 20-30 an hour manually.

So if I want money I should kill stuff with good plat/time/effort ratio?
:scribbles this information down

If I want tradeskill stuff I should either buy it or farm it?
:scribbles this key point down

If I want to save money then I shouldn't spend it?
:scribbles down this word of wisdom

VERY useful post! I was wondering what I had been doing wrong all these years.

**Not a flame ... just a lame attempt at humor**

The effort is appreciated. I'm glad you wanted to help out the community, even though it's pretty elementary and hopefully common sense (heaven-forbid this comes as some sort of revelation to anyone here). Well intentioned posts ftw!

Army are you haiving any troubles with autoforage? I've never used before, but after pcing some things, decided its not a bad source of afk income. Once loaded /startforage, ini is set to keep everything yet nothing happening. Anything I need to tweak?

Since the last fix on autoforage.. i have not had problems with it...

Key things to note...

1. ensure Forage is one of the ability buttons.. (everytime i switch toons around i forget this )

2. ensure mq2autoforage is loaded and you have latest one ( you will see red message usually when you try /startforage when its not loaded)

3. /keepitem <name> and/destroyitem <name> are your friend 8-)

4. ONLY toons with forage ablility can use this.. /mq2autoforage is not a hack to let all toonsforage

I am using the DLL in cades compile atm .. its working fine... honestly pop .. if you did all those.. and its still not working i am not sure whatelse to try ..

the ini files are updated automatically unless you use the keep and destroy command

I have not MODDED the ini files except with those two commands... Maybe try deleting them and let the plugin recreate them .. just a thought

Here is a forage mac I decided to use with a default .ini, This one is set for farming clockwork greases. 0 obviously destroy, while 1 represent keep. Minor bugs, nothing huge, can still fully automate afk foraging.

Rich (BB code):
|yafm.mac

|Yet Another Forage Macro
|
|Ini File: yafm.ini
|
| 0 = destroy
| 1 = keep
|
|New foraged items are added to the ini file automatically and are kept by default.

Lol that would've been it :p

i have the YAFM also .. its is my back up for when autoforage is not up ...

but the great thing about autoforage... is you can run your target.mac or FH.mac and forage at same time.. with outmore code in yourmacros or such

8-)

glad its working PoP
