Question - Missing out an expansion (gear)

Hi all,


I took a break during ToB, so I don’t have any gear from that expansion. That said, I do have a fairly well-geared group (Laurion's Song group gear)

I’m just looking for some genuine opinions: would it be realistic to jump into the new expansion at launch without any ToB gear, or is that likely to be a fool’s errand?

For context, my group is SK, CLR, BRD, BER, ROG, and BST.

I understand the final decision is mine, but I’d really appreciate any helpful input from those with experience.

Nobody had TOB gear when the expansion came out. So you should be fine

This expansion has a level increase. So if you are under 125 right now more than likely you will get smashed no matter what your armor looks like.

You could dabble a bit and see how it goes but you need to work on leveling too so if there is anything you do now that gives you good exp then keep doing that to help balance things out

Armor is not everything, did you get your AA, your spells, etc from TOB?

you can buy your tank a set if T1 visables real cheap in the bazaar then farm up t2 and trade skill stuff from there

YOULL BE FINE... LS GEAR IS GOOD.....

I think you will be good, just might need to stay in T1 zones longer for gear.

With the LS group gear, you could if you have ToB, run the 4 missions and do some hunting named and get T2 or T3 group gear from ToB before the xpac drops, if not you will be fine in LS gear and level up like everyone else.

LS group gear is probably pretty good, if it were me I would work on getting whatever t2 and t3 gear you can get for you SK and not worry about the other toons too much in the interim.

I've skipped 2 expansions before, and jumped into a current level up back when ToV went live. Was tough, but doable, although could only manage maybe 1/2 of the T1 named until tank gear and AA caught up a bit, but only needed a full 7 slots of T1 on the tank to get rolling. Skipping only 1 expansion will be a cakewalk by comparison.

Which reminds me, if I ever start playing again, gotta go back and do those expansions for heroic fort/etc. Still haven't done that :P
