• Hail, we're RedGuides. We want you to play six (yes, 6!) EverQuest characters at once. We have scripts and a friendly community to help, please join our playstyle and say hello! 👋
  • We've added LLM sections to our Terms & Rules and Resource Rules, for everyone's sanity & in-game safety.
    a. Do not replace your voice with an LLM. This goes for your posts and your scripts. Drafting and editing with a tool is fine, but don't take you out of what you share.
    b. Do not replace your EQ character's voice with an LLM. We don't want scripts that speak over /ooc, /shout or other public channels. This has been an unwritten rule that's kept casino scripts off the site for decades, but we're now compelled to make it clear: keep automated communication private.

    Why Does RG Review Scripts?
Nearly every LLM-written Lua script we see is making your character do impossible things, and rarely in a way that's beneficial to you. We've seen heavy server hammering, /target over impossible distances when /nav spawn would passively accomplish the same thing, a spawn search that fires 20+ times per second, and other pointless actions that are likely annoying GMs.

You are welcome to use LLMs as a tool to structure, draft, and edit your work, but please read critically before hitting /lua run

i forget when using mq2map... there is a way to filter out to where all you see is just the nameds on the map... anyone remember how to filter out all the mobs begining with the letter "a".

i dont believe so, but you can just turn npcs off and turn tracking on and just track and have mapfilter target on..... that will show your target and a line to it as well. Dunno if that helps at all but its all i got

I can really only afford 1 MMO at the moment (and I pay the podcast hosting too), so I'm sticking with WoW. No worries, as I'm still handling the compiles. Everyone's fast to post the new .exe files as soon as they're available, so getting compiles up and running has been no problem.

I've also been using the downtime to try out the free trials on games. It's been cool checking out the stuff out there, like EVE Online, as I talked about in the last podcast. Also tried out City of Heroes, which is fun.

After I use the "/mapfilter NPC" command to hide all the NPCs I simply use this command:

Rich (BB code):
/mapshow #

That seems to display any named NPCs and mobs in the zone including quest NPCs.

alittle more experimenting and it seems that Mercenary's color's are for some reason "NPCCorpse" color's and vise-versa. When I set NPCCorpse color to something, my mercenary then appears to that color. And when I set mercenary color to something, the corpses appear that color. Very odd.. Doesnt bother me so much that its like this then that I dident know why. :)
