Question - Manual Role + DPSOn

So with the toon that I am driving my group I am running kissassist on manual and would like to toggle DPS on so that it casts my spells on the target that I am attacking. This works fine, as you would expect. However my issue is that the DPS section and casting spells seems to go through a lot of target checks to make sure it is casting on the right target, which for normal assist usage is understandable. However for my tank that I have on manual I just want it to spew my spells at whatever I am targeting, because I am in fact the MA in the group.

However in practice what happens is lets say I pull two mobs and am attacking one of the mobs, if I look to switch my targets to the secondary mob KA will force my target back to the first mob to cast its spells instead of just casting on the secondary target that I am currently targeting.

My question being is there a way to make it not force my target to change with the dps section on, and instead just cast on whatever I have targeted while in manual mode.

Try this setting. If it already =0, try =1. I can't remember which way tells KA to stop changing your target automatically.

[Melee]
TargetSwitchingOn=0

If that is still fighting you, try turning off UseMQ2Melee in the Melee section too. If you want more control, you can look up deathlock's custom KA mod that will give you full target control for tanks.

Since ur running KA you could turn it on normal and pause when u pull and unpause when u get mobs back make hotkey to toggle pause which will let u start dpsing like normal? just a suggestion I don't know if that's what u want but what I do sometimes

I can also be a timing issue. First you have to have UseMQ2Melee turned off or MQ2Melee will control all targeting, Then Turn on TargetSwitchingOn=1. This allows the MA to manually switch targets and tells the rest of the group to switch to his new target. The problem with this is that the currently active DPS target's ID is stored and passed to all the combat related routines. Those routines do not use your current target, but the stored TargetID(MyTargetID). There is a check after each DPS entry is executed, to see if your target changed, and if it did let everyone know and continue using your new target. There could be an issue with switching target when in the middle of casting on a target. I am not sure how the game/EQClient handles that. If the EQClient switches you back to your original target then it will be hard to switch targets while casting DPS spells.

My experience has been that the spell will land on the mob you had targeted when you first started casting but leave your current target unchanged. I've used this when manually mezzing. I start casting on mob1, change targets mid cast, then immediately start casting mez on mob2 as soon as the first cast finishes.
