When I am in a raid and in manual mode, my toon still assists the group "main assist" even with "raid mode" checked or unchecked and raid assist drop down on "unassigned". Am I doing something wrong? Is manual mode intended to let you chose your own targets regardless of being in raid or group? This is what I think would work best, Manual mode = chose your own target whether solo, in group, or in raid.

for caster classes like shm, clr, mag, enc, they still acquire targets and cast, yes.

for melee classes, they do not

the reason for this is long and boring and complicated - but tl;dr - castery classes do that, melee only (and bst) don't

the castery classes need a method to determine if we should be attacking something that doesn't involve our autoattack, and they have buffing and debuffing and stuff to do.

you should consider either pausing those classes if you truly don't want them to do *anything*. but even in manual mode, if they have stuff to do, they're gonna do it

when i do something that i need my shm to not do nukes and dots while in manual mode (like kaen mission or gd when last boss is up), i put everyone in manual mode, and then i click off usenukes and usedots on my shm until i want him to do nukes and dots again

Thanks Sic. It's more the opposite, I want my mage to do "everything", but I don't want it to switch NPC targets. Any chance of a "Chibz Mode" lol.

I am kidding, I thank you for explaining the logic and I will continue to manage it best I can!

I thought about this a bit more and I have no problem turning my melee on to initiate casting/buffing/etc. while in manual mode. Please consider a way to make "Manual" mode mean something different than "Assist" because it sounds like it is the same thing for casters?
