Question - Makecamp help

I use modbot and use the /makecamp command religiously. My problem is with my melee bots. I have read the /makecamp wiki through and through and I just do not think I understand how to make this command work.

What I want is for my bots to engage the mobs and then, when dead, actually walk back to the camp spot, instead of just chilling where they are standing once the mob is dead. What usually ends up happening is if I just use the default /makecamp then they sit where they are after the mob is dead until they get fairly far away and THEN they walk back to the original /makecamp spot. If i try to shorten the camp radius or add a leash, they don't engage the monsters.

Which leads me to believe that the problem is me, and I just don't understand the commands. How do I set it up so that the party still engages the monster without being right on top of him, but will also walk back to camp when it's dead?

First, I recommend making sure you are using the latest ModBot code (v5.01 was uploaded today). Also, when you makecamp, use the ModBot "makecamp" command, not the slash-command. I usually send a '/bca makecamp' to the bots from my driver toon. There are additional ModBot settings that get set when you use the ModBot command. I suspect this will fix your issue. If that doesn't work, post in the ModBot forum and I will look into it further.

I use /camphere. Not sure what the difference is but my toons go back to the exact same spot.

Woobs, thanks for the input. I only ever use /bca makecamp whenever making camp. I've always suspected it had to do with the leash command or lack thereof.

I'll download 5.01 and give it a whirl tonight and see if that helps.

To illustrate why I dislike it: I like that my melee bots spin to the back of the mob to avoid ripostes. But in doing so, they place themselves in between the group and the tank for the next pull. So to avoid that, I park my tank on the melee instead of the group, and the cycle repeats until eventually I'm out of aggro range of the heals and spell DPS. It's around this point that the melee will wander back to camp when that mob is dead.

Been that way for years for me.

FWIW - This is my MakeCamp section of MQ2MoveUtils.ini

[MakeCamp]
CampRadius=8.00
MinDelay=1000
MaxDelay=2000
RealtimePlayer=off
ReturnHaveTarget=on
ReturnNoAggro=on
ReturnNotLooting=off
UseLeash=off
LeashLength=50.00
UseScatter=off
Bearing=0.00
ScatDist=8.00
ScatSize=8.00

I'll use those parameters and give it a shot! I think it defaults to camp radius 40
