Config - Magician PullerTank issues in PoShadow

I'm having some issues in PoShadow, with a magician in PullerTank mode, pulling the Akhevans on the top floor.

If it's a short pull, there's not been any issues really. But on long pulls, the mag will run back to camp after pulling, then stay faced away from the mob, while the mob beats on his back, while pet refuses to engage and mag stands there casting no spells.

I've tried turning attack on and off in ini, that doesn't matter, still does same.

Can anyone tell me what's wrong? Here's my ini:

Not sure these things will help:

Firstly get KissAssist running on your mage and run a /kisscheck to verify everything is spelled correctly and so forth.

Next in your Melee section turn off Melee:

I noticed your DPS interval is 0.

Maybe having this set so low is causing the DPS section to collide with itself trying to kick off a spell as soon as one is cast.

Also noticed in your pull section you have ChainPullPause twice and the second time doesn't have an equals sign which could be causing some logic to be lost in the automated parts of the script.

And your MaxZRadius is very low at 5 and maybe as you pull the mob back to your camp and it's a tad hilly it throws off the ability for the mob to be visible (within Z range) almost like looking over the edge of a hill while laying on your stomach and not being able to see someone 10 feet away from you because they fall under your field of view. I recommend upping it to at least 50.

I would also recommend adding a bit more distance in your HP variables to your DPS section. I.E. instead of having a spell kick off at 99, 98, 97, 96 ,95, etc. maybe give them more time between castings. Remember some spells take about 1.5 seconds or greater of time to cast and to refresh the gem, in that time the mob could be below 90% and a bunch of spells get missed or never cast. Maybe a routine like 95 (enough for tank to get some solid aggro) then one at 90, 85, 80, 75, 70 and so on, mostly for mana efficiency as well, nukes are big mana chompers. Just suggestions, it's your EQ and your char and you should be able to play it as you best feel it needs to be played :)

Basically this makes your mage pull and tank.

Your role should be :

Role=PullerPetTank - This role allows for a pet class (Mage/Necromancer/Beastlord) to BOTH pull and have their pet tank.

Don't forget to set your character in game to the role of puller and your pet to tank. Can be done through the group interface window by right clicking the character name and navigating through the roles menu. This is mainly in the event you use a Merc, setting these roles keeps your merc from following after you when your mage goes and pulls.

In your Buffs section I noticed you had:

I believe this will work better for you if you remove the Summoned: portion of the buff both on the spell and the usage. If it works and keeps a shard constantly in your bag once the charges run out disregard this suggestion.
I always had issue with mod shard and rods etc when it was in my buffs section with the Summoned: in front of the item and spell. What I pasted below works great for my mage.

Thank you very much for the advice, I really do appreciate it.

For a little bit more info, I am boxing a druid with the mag, have a healer merc with the mag and a caster merc on the druid.

I would like to keep the mag as the tank, and keep Negation of Subtlety buffed on the magician, that way can keep the caster merc on burn, without pulling agro.

If I set it to PullerPetTank, then the pet engages the mob so far away from camp that the merc won't even heal it. Like on a 500' pull, pet will engage like 350' away from camp, and continue to melee it there. Mag refuses to cast any spells on the mob and healer merc won't heal the pet.

I set DPSinterval to 1.

Removed the extra chainpull line mistake, in case it was causing the problem.

The ground is perfectly flat, so no issues with Z axis. I don't want to pull from the small ledge that circles around the area, is why I set it so low, but did change to 10.

If I can tank the mobs, why shouldn't I be able to melee them?

How exactly would you set your pet to tank, in game? In kissassist I understand, but it's not possible in game, I'm pretty sure.

Setting myself as puller, in game, sometimes keeps me too far away from healer merc when I return, and merc would then refuse to heal me. So that's why I don't do that. I'm not sure why this would interfere with me turning around and facing the mob, or the pet engaging the mob, or me casting on the mob?

So far I've not had any issues with modrods casting, I copied those lines from some other magician .ini that I saw on these threads.

After implementing those fixes... Set to PullerPetTank, and continued to do exact same thing, pet engages WAY out away from camp, and stays out there. Sometimes out of merc heal range.

As PullerTank, still same issue as well, back stays to mob, while it beats on me (until caster merc gains ago) and never turns around, never engages pet, and never casts on the mob. This only seems to happen on the longer pulls, 250+ feet.
 
I also noticed you pull radius is 600 but your camp exceed is 530.

If I am logically understanding this setting correctly you are allowing your puller to pull from as far out from your camp up to 600, however as he passes the 530 range his leash to camp breaks and the return to camp fails. Maybe by setting these to the same variable may help.

I did not realize you wanted your mage to tank, I thought you would have wanted you pet to tank the mobs.

Setting yourself as puller was to prevent your merc from running out and engaging before you got back to camp. You are right should have no effect on him spinning around.

I recommended turning off melee simply due to you being a caster "squishy" and assumed you didn't want to get hammered on by mobs. So you can disregard this if you wanted the opposite effect :)

the only other thing I might be able to recommend, is a rebuild of your ini for you mage. Just go in your macros folder, rename the old KissAssist_character.ini and go in game and run kissassist again (just assist a merc or something), then while KissAssist is running use the command /setdps 1 2 3 4 (1-4 represent the gems your DPS spells are memmed to) and slowly add things into your INI again. this is a last ditch effort in the event something went south in your INI we simply are not seeing.

You can set your heals (not sure about pet heals) and buffs the same way:

You are right you can't set the role to tank on pet via EQ. I got myself jumbled up and mixed it up with a Merc lol

Are you targetting the pet when you run KA with the role PullerPetTank? Mine seems to function just fine.

Thanks Maskoi, I remember you mentioning that in another post somewhere that had a similar scenario. I thought about it after posting this and remembered you saying KA sets your maxradius and CampRadiusExceed to match once it starts running.
