Good afternoon,

I made macros for my team before I found this site. I read somewhere that I could use keypress from my main account to run my other accounts. My main is a SK will key press work for my other 5 accounts will the macros I set up on those accounts work using key press? I still need to use /mac kissassist to get setup every time I log in though still correct?

Dannet needs to be loaded via

/plugin MQ2dannet load

and eqbc needs to be started in the launcher, there is a check box. then start mq2. Once in the game doa

/bccmd connect 127.0.0.1 2112

one each char

then run a
/bcaa //bccmd set autoconnect on
/bcaa //bccmd reconnect on

on from one char

that will get both those running and connected to them both and also for when you relog you will be reconnected with out having to do anything

Do I need both eqbc and mq2dannet? I cant get the launcher to work in able to get eqbc

just depends on what you are doing. Usually a good idea to run both as many macros use one or the other or both. if you can't get the launcher to work, right click on the mq2 icon in your notifications area and select start eqbc..

OR you can launch it from the folder by selecting one of the executable for eqbc or eqbc2

Lastly, read/watch the guides they have a ton of good info that will help you understand their functions.

awesome I used the eqbc from the folder to start it. I have both running and set up to auto connect like you said. I have my toons macros setup with keybinds. On my main can I setup macros that just tell specific character to press certain key that will respond to that macro that is setup instead of telling all to press that keybind

Looks like /bct (character name) //target (charcter name)
/bct (character name) // cast 2

worked for my shaman cast a buff.

I dont like the automation of killing if i can setup macros to tell my other characters to hit there macros ill be happy with that. This gives me more control over the fight and everything. Only concern is the lag between giving the command and the command being executed. Will that lag kill me if I rely on this method to run all my characters?

On the tank, set yourself tank, then do
/bcg //target ${Group.MainTank}
OR
/bcg //target id ${Me.ID}
/bcg //mac kissassist assist

Do I need do this everytime I log in? This just sets me as the tank and everyone else to assist me. I will still need macro like above if I need to heal someone else besides me yes?

just to confirm you understand, Redguides, MQ2, and its macro's are mostly to automate the action of characters so you don't have to press buttons at all. As Amarth alluded to, Kissassist (and there are others) is a fully functional macro that will run a toon almost completely autonomous after you set it up. A cleric for example can buff, heal, rez, and more your entire group with out you intervening at all. Its not to say, you can't do keypress stuff by setting up buttons on your hot bar but you might find more value in something like ISBOXER instead which is replicates a keystroke to several window at once. So if you are looking for that manual feel, as in /target toon3 and heal, it might be more what you are looking for. On the flip, if you want to run a cleric as a merc so to speak, then you can achieve that here.

Ok I looked at some INI for characters I have I copy and pasted to my folders. I will try the automation out see how I like it. Sorry to be a pain in the butt

You aren't being a pain in the butt. We're happy to help :)

I feel ya. I prefer to be more hands-on myself, but not with all my characters because, well I hate healing and don't really get into pure melees, so I run mq2rogue on my rogues, a KA ini I set up to control heals to my liking, and I manually run the others. I have been using rgmercs on my bard to see how I like it bc I never really did anything with her other than Melody and maybe autoattack if I remembered, and it seems to be working nicely. I kinda wish I'd tried that on the rogues before I bought the rogue plugin bc I like the functionality better. On rogues, because I don't want to mess with meshes etc, I have it set to manual and I have a mostly empty KA ini I start on them that makes them assist. They run off when I evac, trying to chase what I was killing, while the bard does not. I also don't have to start a plugin AND a macro to run the bard the way I want. Idk if one runs anything noticeably better than the other though as I haven't tested it. The heals would probably be better with rgmercs or mq2heals too, but since they're working fine as is I haven't been inclined to try other methods.

You may have to dig in to find how to set things up with more or less interaction to your tastes, but you can do it. As far as the commands listed higher up, you can just make social hotkeys for them, don't have to type them every time.

As the others have mentioned, a significant part of the value of MQ2 comes from the macros and plugins.

If all you want is to broadcast keypresses to you other toons so you can run your keybinds without tabbing, something like ISBoxer might suit your needs better. But you will give up all the other stuff (maps, nav, etc).

I started with ISboxer to do the same thing you are trying to do. After going to MQ2 and setting up Kiss and later CWTN plugins, I would never go back. So much quality of life improvement.
