Newer versions of KA also support summoning items, so I've added the following downshits to my mage's mq2melee ini:

add about 1k oGCD DPS. The elemental shard has an upfront cost of 1842 mana but with a base damage potential of 19.5k it's about double the mage's next best, Jolt of Many, which also requires 10 pets present.
