I have just recently learned how to make offsets, and now I am getting a little better. I just made one that lets you loot anycorpse, however it doesn't let you see the items... anyways if anyone wants to look into this here is the info...

Seems it will let it look like you are looting a PC's corpse on your client, but no items show up. Havent tried it on NPC corpses yet.
 
This has been posted before I'm 90% sure but nobody was able to figure out a use for it.

Now, if he were able to find me an offset to prevent ID changing from crashing you that'd be a nice find.
 
It lets you loot any corpse, PC, NPC... and yes, it seems like it is client side. If you zoom out while using it, you don't duck or anything.

Is there anyway that it could be possible to make it show the items? I just thought that there would be, because I found a way into the corpse, and now I just need help to get the corpse's items.
 
I seriously doubt it, at least not with an offset.

And if there was...frankly, I don't see people releasing it. It's just *asking* to have people running around doing that ninjalooting of PC corpses thing that Abyss did a few months back.
 
exactly, find people that have good gear, train them, and loot up!

Yup. Offsets go in MQ2DoCrack.ini.
 
Nice Idea i'v heard about this but got 1 question, whats the point if you cannot see the items?
 
You know, it's really better that you can't see the items.

This game doesn't need people able to ninjaloot PC corpses, or go into raid zones and ninjaloot static mobs, etc. That crosses that little boundary of going from helping yourself out to screwing other people.
 
But some people... myself ..... would use the offset for the power of good like transfering my rotting 200+ hp gear to my new hydra lvl 70 toon who is standing around in birthday suit=).

Which is why although i would love to get something like this so i can swap those no drop items i want to swap ......


but lemme ask a quicky question .... you can't see the items.... but can you click any of the spots... like the top one and loot something?

I've paste the information above the line into my docrack.ini file, and all it allows for is the ability to loot other corpses (to include PC's), but of course no items show up. And they're not "invisible", you can't just click the empty spaces and loot items that aren't there. Does the information below the line have to be pasted into the .ini file as well, or somewhere else? And has anyone successfully looted another player's corpse using this method?

And every single person I see posting shit like that will get a bad red cent. It's one thing to cheat, but it's quite another to come along hoping to steal someone else's hard work.


On another note. This WAS done, a while ago. Abyss, the guy who runs KEQ, did it. Not in this way, but he did it. Want to know what happened? SOE reacted fast and hard...they went on one of the largest banning sprees I've seen in years, and it's what set them up to later do that ban spree about the sharedbank stuff. Let's be smart about this, people. SOE will leave us alone as long as we're not screwing with other people, because we pay well and they don't really care. But stealing from other peoples' corpses causes them to want to quit, causing SOE to want to lose money...etc.

Is more in the lines of what I am looking for. Stealing other people's work is just wrong, not to mention a sure way to invite petitions about missing items. It would not take long for Sony to bring out the Ban stick. I just have a bunch of stuff on toons that I dont use that would be nice to transfer to the toons I currently play.
 
The problem is that this kind of hack is like Pandora's Box. Once you open it and put it out on a semi-public board like this one, it doesn't go away until SOE nerfs it to hell and goes on another banning spree.
 
I was hoping it was somekind of auto loot macro. So I didn't have to click every piece of my inventory and bags. I am a bard so I die alot.

Anyone know of a macro like this?

I am really not interested in looting any other corpse only mine or one of my kills. I would love to click less if possible.
 
Lots of things could be used to harm others.....I remember before I ever knew you could hack games we had an x-guildee who kept making our raids wipe....funny thing is you would look to see who was in zone..and he was not ...but then seconds later we would have a dozen mobs pulledo n us....if u did a /who quick enough you would catch his name...but then he would be gone...people started to say he knew "hacks"...which actually is what lead me to this website....

In all fairness there are a good amount of hacks that can be used to mess with people, what it really comes down to is WHO is using them, no what hacks are being used...just my opinion..(always hated any kind of censorship myself....especially in the last few years....so maybe I am just approaching this from an overally emotional angle)
 
True...but there's a difference between someone who can use hacks to make people's playing difficult...and handing them this sort of hack, which would, without any changes or special knowledge, allow anyone with it to access to corpses of anyone else.
 
Well i laugh at anyone dumb enough to loot another players corpse =P. All that person does is petition his items disappeared and the GM looks around a little and sees who looted the corpse. Same as if you ninja an npc.
 
I hope there is never a practical use for a hack like this ... or that if one is found it's never released. This just opens too many doors for assholes to fuck out their fellow eq-players. Yeah it'd be nice to transfer nodrops btw toons, but you KNOW folk are going to abuse it.

Best that it never sees the light of day. The only thing that would happen is hundreds of bans and hours/days of frustration for the non-hackers.
 
really, the only practical use for it is that if you get the looting right and weren't in the group that killed it, you can loot the corpse before waiting the normal amount of time :)

I agree, if someone gets this working PLEASE dont release it.
 
This offset doesn't work and never will :P End of discussion and if you use MQ2 you are cheating no matter how you try and justify it :P
 
Jinx...this is the loot macro that you are looking for. Just target your corpse and type /macro loot. It will loot everything on your corpse, make sure to get a rez before you do. I can't find who made it. I found it on the boards a good while ago. My apologies for the lack of credit.

Copy the text into notepad and save it as loot.mac. Put the file in your macro folder.

There's a difference between cheating for personal use/gain while not bothering anyone and actively hacking at the expense of other players (trying to steal someone elses shit). If you can't see the difference, I feel very sorry for ya.
 
Just a question...Even though you can't see the loot, can you still click the boxes and see if you get anything? Or the plat off of the corpses?

If you're afk botting or stealing some one's shit sony doesn't care. They'll ban you just the same.

This is true but many people that don't use MQ2 see things that could be reported and choose not to report it. If you steal from a corpse that they were going to loot they will absolutely petition the incident. I think most of the experienced people here agree that most suspension/bans come from player petitions.

Still even if it was 100% undetectable by SOE I would not steal from another PC because I don't need to screw others to get enjoyment out of EQ. If I did I would play on a PvP server hehe

I'm not saying stealing from people is ok, but I'm saying that it doesn't matter if it gets released or not. Cheating is cheating you will get banned for doing anything against the EULA. It's not like Sony has an unspoken agreement that "as long as you don't fuck with others we don't care", if they catch you they throw a party they actively look for hackers.
 
My understanding is that its impossible to loot another PC's corpse? serverside?? .....but even if it was possible, I can't believe anyone would doubt that a GM could not just look up who looted that body, because I know they can do that with mobs.....and lets face it...you would not get suspended with that one if it was even possible...they would probably ban every account on your credit card....but this is all for nothing, it can't be done is my understanding.

It's not a question of banning or 'wrongness' in the eyes of Sony ... it's about ethics and common respect for your fellow player. It's about like saying murder and cheating on your taxes are the same. Both with get you thrown in jail, but does that make them equally wrong? And if you say that the consequences are more dire IRL for one than the other, I assert that you are much less likely to get permanently banned for afk botting in the first strike than for stealing someone's shit with hacks. I've been suspeneded for one ... doubtful i would have gotten off for the other.

If another hack is found that lets you get away with this kinda stuff, I do hope it's never released for this very reason. Yeah people are gonna get their shit back and the offenders a guaranteed ban after the suspension/investigation ... but when the MQ2 community does shit that harrasses the normal community to this degree, it's only gonna increase sony crackdown ... and nobody wants that.
