This is a new currency that was introduced a few months ago. The feature had a rough, drawn out delayed start and a lot of controversy. It is much better now.
You earn these thru contests and guide events.
The contests are usually posted on the official forums. After you submit what ever the contest requires then all correctly submitted names are put in a spinner and a few winners are chosen. Reward is 1 or 2 Logs. They have had less than 5 contests since it started some months ago so it's not a fast way to earn them
The guide events seem to be rewarding 1 Log each time. Not all servers have guide events. Some servers have a lot of them. You can attend as many guide events as you want, with as many boxes, alts as you want. Unless it is a special event where the guide limits you to one character. He is pretty much a copy of the Loyalty Vendors. A ton of potions, weapon augs (all the ocean mist ones and more) , gold tickets, unattuners etc. BUT he has new stuff also, a bag, a Black Griffon mount for 4 Logs or the entire line of shields representing the GODS for 1 log each.

Most everything is 1 log so if you get into the guide events you can easily get what ever you want.
