I keep getting a crash of EverQuest.exe. I can avoid the crash and can duplicate it. What I have not done from the suggested fixes: update since the 18th(it has gone on from day 1) or do a dump of plugins because they vary.

What happens is everytime I have to /unload, and right-click reload from the icon, I get at least one crash, usually two. I am running, and experiencing these same crashes, on 2 machines. One runs 3 toons on win10 pro, and the first one I load is never the one that crashes on the boxing machine(I often unload that one immediately and only run the others on KA). I have everything unnecessary turned off in pluginmanager(which is a plugin I run, plus KA and it's dependents. Nothing else)

If I nuke mq2 after crash and reload my accounts, the crash repeats, until I reboot everything.

My other machine, runs on Windows 7 pro, and only runs one account for a healer, with only the requisite KA plugins needed. That one rarly crashes due to never needing to /unload, but if I do, it does. This occurs with multiple .ini setups I've tried, including my very naked one from scratch. This machine also must be rebooted to stop the crash.

The crash isn't always immediate upon reload, but not delayed much. There can be a delay up to 30 seconds before this occurs.

Background: I couldn't install the auto update on my main machine, as explained somewhere else, it keeps saying a windows program required isn't present, and when I try to install it I get an error, but I have it already installed by default, and in win10 you can't uninstall(only disable the really old versions) sorry, my brain isn't giving me the name of the program, could be visual c++ runtime.

After giving up on that and finding I could just download and run VV, I did so, and did the same on the other machine without trying the updater(though that one may work fine) to keep it uniform.
 
I am a bit confused, hope someone can help me with this. If I sound stupid... because I am.. lol... Will very vanilla work on TLP True Box? I mean if I just use 1 account? Or this only works at the regular Live server? also, one more I think I will get yell at questions, so does Very Vanilla works at P99?.... Sorry to sound ignorant... I really don't understand programming... please excuse my ignorant.

mq2 and VV does not work on truebox servers.

mq2/VV does work on Rizlona which is not a truebox and other non-truebox servers

Works on "Live servers", Antonius Bayle, Bertoxxulous, Bristlebane, Cazic Thule, Drinal, Erollisi Marr, Firiona Vie, Luclin, Povar, Ragefire, Rizlona, The Rathe, Trakanon, Tunare, Vox, Xegony, Zek

Does not work on: "Truebox" servers, such as Aradune, Agnarr, Corinav, Phinigel, Mangler, Miragul, or Selo's.

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this, but is there a complete detailed list of all plugins & macros included in very vanila with links to their instructions /guides? I have looked everywhere I thought it would be but couldn't find it. Almost seems eveything i been interested in looking at is included, but it's a jumble looking thru the macros or plugins and some seem to be irrelevant to trying to pick what would want personally or omitting for learning curve and adding things as progressing along.

In general you should be using the resource manager to look at plugins and macros, the instructions are typically on the resource overview. Note the categories at the top left. If you have questions about a specific resource, click its "discussion" tab from resource overview.

Thanks @Redbot I figured the paid ones were not included, but wasn't expecting al 136 to be included... guess i got a lot more reading and catching up on... What about the Macro's? they the same way all inclusive? I know they in same list above the plugins, but there are almost 300 of them...

There are some macros included that everyone uses, such as cskillup, kissassist, muleassist, etc. but I recommend you pick out ones that suit you and install them via the launcher.
 
not sure if this is KA or something else. before the update, i was using /chase 1 and /chase 0 just fine, alongside KA and without eqbc or anything like that running muchless set up. Now, it tells me i need it? I just liked it because /follow likes to run circles when I'm boxing though my other machines are fine because ..they're other machines. Am I missing something or did something change? I tried the command /chaseassist (probably not formatted right) to try adjusting /chaseassist on and off for KA, but that's where I got the eqbc not set up part. Monday I was just using the command /chase 1 or /chase 0 to start and end follow. Is this linked to another plugin I might have inadvertently disabled? Or is it just a base command for VV and it has now changed? I do not have the RG updater, It will not install or run idk why...i posted about that when I first encountered the issue. Instead I download manually. Since I first downloaded after the last game update, I had not updated my MQ2 etc until the expansion launched, so if there was a change in the interim I missed it. Just inputting /chase 1 says i am not connected , use /bccmd connect to establish a connection. I never had to do that before.

should i just replace the /chase 1 command with /stick id (with the followee targetted)? can I use that command and a distance command together? should i use /afollow, or does that also use ..stuff? I just don't know why it worked yesterday and now it won't, but all i want is follow that stays following even after combat, and doesn't run in circles like eq's /follow does. /chase 1 worked great but i can not find what would make it stop working overnight. I added mq2rogue. when I started using /chase 1, i only had vv installed, i disabled easyfind and several other things, and ran ka ini. some of the pieces in vv and the commands for them are hard to navigate due to age, or sheer variety, so i may be asking stupid questions here. I'm sure it's obvious to everyone else, or an ancient command i need because I don't want to use Nav

I'm unable to replicate this issue. Perhaps you're pressing a hotkey that include eqbc commands. Try just typing /chase 1

i did lol, and i checked the hotkey, it only says /chase 1. will try again after i reload game..havent been back on since it went down earlier

just checked again, and after it not working i unloaded mq2rogue.. still get this https://prnt.sc/vz54ra even though eqbc is loaded it says i need eqbc/mq2dannet loaded

its loaded, but are you connected to an eqbcs server? > here <

after loading eqbc in game, you need to connect to the server with a /bccmd reconnect (assuming you already connected and set your connection information)

But I have NEVER done that before and it worked before the patch, that's what I don't get.
 
EQ is crashing after about 10-20 seconds in game. This started happening occasionally prior to the expansion release. In TOV I was able to retry the logins and eventually stay in game after 2-3 attempts with no further crashes.

Once in Beta, I was never able to avoid the crash. It would crash every time after a few seconds in game.

Now in COV I am seeing the same issue as in Beta. I cannot keep EQ from crashing. Sometimes it crashes immediately when the the character enters world but can take up to 30 seconds. Occasionally, the Everquest application crashes and no longer appears as an application in Task Manager but remains as process. I have to kill the process before I can launch the character again.

I have sent my dump files to EQMule, but was hoping someone here might have an idea of what might be causing this.

This is happening both when using the Launcher/MQAutoLogin and starting VV manually then logging in through the EQ Launcher.

Help Please!

your crashes aren't super clear (to me) on what's causing it - but dannet is catching it - I don't have enough information to say if it is dannet's fault, or just dannet catching it.

you might try and unload dannet and see if the problem goes away or not. this could be something like that issue with some antivirus/firewall stuff that closes sockets and causes dannet issues

oh and btw - I haven't seen a sony online entertainment directory in a bit lol

Removing dannet did stop the crashes. Now to figure out why dannet is crashing EQ (since I use RGMercs).

Interestingly, if I start VV without Dannet and then load the plugin after I am in game, I don't crash.

I'll start another thread over in the Dannet discussion to track this down.

its possible it is mq2collections related with dannet - which i don't think dannet can do anything about. like i mentioned its possible dannet is just catching the issue or being fed bad information which causes the crash

so i cannot run the launcher its giving me RGResourceManager has stopped working error msg any suggestions? i have looked in file manager for %localappdata%/redguides file and i cannot find it

Make sure EQBCS.exe is closed. If you're running it as a service, you'll need to shut it down from task manager.

Take an easy screen snip:
  1. Shift+Windows Key+S
  2. Select the area you wish to copy
  3. Control+V to paste it into a forum message

I cannot get the launcher to load. This has been happening since Mon-Tue. I uninstalled and reinstalled today and now I can see the red UI for about a second, but then it disappears. It is not in my task manager tho EQBC is. I had to uninstall everything (even vanilla) and that worked.
