Tech - Kissassist v6.8.8 Keeps Crashing on Load (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone,
Im new to redguides and Im having an issue with kissassist. I use kissasssist to turn my shaman in a bot to help my SK kill around. Yesterday I was able to have it run my shaman no problems I followed all the steps on the Beginner's Guide video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gvjcmIALPw ) and everything worked perfect all last night. Kissassist would do everything with my shaman heals, buffs, even dps. After playing 8 hours I got tired and decided to call it a night so I camped out and shut down the computer. Today I started back up, started the sony launcher, started two eq2 windows like before, after both got to the character select I ran MQ2, it loaded both MQ2 windows, then I started the characters into the world. I looked at my map and could all the monsters so everything looked good even the silver message was auto closed. I was so happy to be able to continue so then I targeted my sk and typed /mac kisassist to get the shaman going again and. Bamn it died..



Macroquest2 is blocking the "send Sony crash info?" box for your safety and privacy. Crashes are usually bugs either in EQ or in Macroquest2. It is generally not something that you yourself did, unless you have custom MQ2 plugins loaded. If you want to submit a bug report to the MacroQuest2 message boards, please follow the instructions on how to submit a crash bug report at the top of the MQ2::Bug reports forums.

So I thought oh crap. Shut down everything and restarted my computer, then tried again launching, loading MQ2 at character select, loaded character in, then again it crashed same message. So then I deleted all my MQ2 stuff and reinstalled from scratch using the youtube video and again it crashed. Then next I deleted EQ2 and reinstalled from scratch same thing. I cant figure out what change from lastnight and the forums on MQ2 saw I need to put information about the crash on the forums but all I get is that message saying it preventing sending the crash information to sony.. would be nice if it would atleast let me see it lol Maybe then I can try to fix the issue. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe where I can find out what is crashing it? I would love any help I have been trying to find information on the website for 3 hours and other than the youtube video telling me to run EQ1 then MQ2 and then the forums http://www.redguides.com/community/showthread.php/27469-Very-Vanilla-Compile-20140221 telling me to run MQ2 then EQ2 I haven't seen anything I could be messing up I have tried them both and I get the same result. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I also tried downloading the new Kissassist from the http://www.redguides.com/community/...t-7-Updated-3-3-2014-v7-0?p=212396#post212396 post all that did was kill all my other plug in and nothing else would work lol so I delete MQ2 and did a fresh Youtube install.

First thing that comes to mind is a custom UI. If you have any custom ui pieces try just using default then the issue is probably HoTTOn=1 change it to HoTTOn=0.
Second thing would be to back up and delete your shammys kiss ini file then start it new with KISS 7 and see if it works.

Well I got to play a few days now Im back to just chain crashing. Uninstalled MQ2, ran IOBit Advanced System Care to clean out any thing left behind, restarted computer, reinstalled using youtube guide, copied over the new Kissassist 7 and bamn soon as I run the kissassist.mac it just crashes to the same error. If I target myself it runs tells me I have to target a tank and then stops the macro but doesn't crash and if I target anything else soon as I start the macro it dies. I can run all the other macros no problem for example the alcohol tolerance I ran that no problems in Thurgadin and it went flawlessly. I also ran the spell casting macro and the skill macro all went perfect. Some reason my computer hates kissassist. Even after a complete format, reinstall of windows 8 64bit Im having the same issue. I didnt copy over anything just copy and pasted the name of the buffs, dps, heals from notepad to notepad so I didnt have to retype them all. Heres my Shaman.mac its crappy but I have spent more time reinstalling and trying to get it to run than actually using it lol. Any ideas would be very appreciated.

I tried changing HoTTOn=0 with the custom UI i use and it will still crash right after starting kissassist. Any ideas? I'm using the EVO III UI. http://www.eqinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=5680. Thanks for the help!

Works fine with default UI, id just prefer not to use it if at all possible.

hott is the big one. Debugging custom UIs is super hard. What is kiss doing when it crashes? I wouldn't even be able to gues unless I have more info to narrowing it down.

Basically i type /mac kissassist, it loads the script then crashes immediately. Same crash message as the OP posted a screenshot of. I can post a screenshot if that helps anymore.

edit your kissassist.mac find this line

 /declare Debug                  int         outer       0

and change it =1 the save

/mac kissassist

after it crashes goto your mq2/log/ folder and find the toons log. paste like the last 5 lines here so we can see what kiss was doing before it crashed

Ok Kissassist is crashing when its reading your buffs from the buff window. Your custom ui's buff window is out of date or not compatible with the default ui. no way around that.

Its your custom UI. I can't support Kiss with custom UIs. It takes up way to much time and every custom UI is different. Most UI authors make theirs compatible with the default UI so everything in EQ works with it. If they coded it wrong or its out date there is not much you can do. MQ2 is written for the default UI and same thing. Sorry but Kiss reads like 5 or 6 game windows one of those MQ2 and Kiss can't read and is crashing you.

Im not sure how thats possible since I dont have a custom UI I use only the default UI. I recently completely erased my computer and reinstalled everything including a fresh Eq1. The only thing it could be is my character files I copied over to save the window locations. But thank you for your advice ill do another fresh install of Mq2 and Eq1 and not copy anything over and see how it goes.

Back up your eq toon ini files from your everquest directory then delete them and start eq so it makes new ones see it works then.

Im so frustrated. First off to late.. I already reformatted my eq1/MQ2 partition so everything is gone UIs,character files, maps. I reinstalled from scratch Eq1/MQ2 off of the offical websites. Followed the MQ2 youtube video for install. Started Eq1, at the character screen started MQ2, the Mq2 windows came up like normal, loaded in my character, move around some of the windows ie group window on the left of the screen. Redid all of my macros (eq1 like Incoming messages) from scratch. Loaded kissassist7, it created the character file like normal, edited the file for normal buffs and stuff, then I saved the file, reloaded kissassist7 so I could start buffs, guess what? ..... CRASH Burn Die. My favorite error the same exact error I have been getting since I installed Kissassist. I have no clue what it is and Im done trying tonight. I have spend over 12 hours working on this crash issue and Im no closer now then I was the end of febuary when I paid for the subscription. I have even tried everything from checking spelling errors in my character files to reformatting all harddrives and reinstalling windows. Sadly have only played with kissassist about 3 hours but I love the script assuming it works lol. My only thought as of now is maybe it the UI files the Redguide installer has you copy to you UI folder. Other than that everything is factory Sony /shrug . Im even willing to let people remote into my computer using Teamviewer to try for solutions. Thanks for trying to help though.

Thank you very much for trying to help I tried changing the DPs to 5% difference and also making sure the camp radius and camp radius exceed (both were defaults on Beastlord) and it still crashed..: This time I assisted my healer companion instead of pet to see if that would make any difference sadly it didnt. Thank you for trying though sir.

DO THIS PLEASE go into the macro and set all debugs to =1 same place the first one was. Then post both your sk and beasty log. that will give a better snap shot where you are crashing.

Also are your your toons f2p, silver or gold accounts and are you an a live server and not a progression server?

Also make sure macroquest2.exe is set to run as admnistrator

What ever "[2014/03/11 00:54:00] [MQ2] RezCheck: Enter" Both of them seem to be crashing on. Im not sure I turned on all the debugs if you see them missing could you either link the line I need to change or get a kissassist version 7 change them and send that to me? Thanx again.

I'm on teamviewer. Fresh MQ2 install, KA7. I type /mac kissassist, it starts to write the .ini files, and CTD.

Trying it on a level 1 now.

Slacktastic was nice enough to let me try his account.

He also zipped up his MQ2 folder and let me check it out so I could have the exact same settings, same .ini, same character - he even sent me the UI files from his EQ directory.

I was unable to replicate the crash I'd seen over and over on teamviewer earlier in the evening. His BST ran KA7 fine, no crashes, no nothing.

My only idea is that there's a program on his PC that's causing MQ2 to crash (but only when loading KISS - weird!), or perhaps a corrupt file in EQ.

Ty for trying Redbot and tomorrow when you get time we can have another go if thats ok.. It could be a windows 8 issue who knows. I have Windows 8 Pro 64bit and the only thing thats running is AVG Free Antivirus but we tried disabling it and that didn't help and I also have Iobit advanced system care free that's it though. Is anyone running Kissassist on a windows 8 64bit machine? It could be some component of the OS /shrug.. Its so hard to figure out because sometimes it works sometimes not. IE just ran it I had 6 characters running. SK,Bst,Druid,Shaman,Mage,Bard and all of them crashed soon as I loaded kissassist other than the druid. She just stood there alone buffing as the others LDed one by one lol

Just incase I uninstalled Avg, and all my IOBit stuff and restarted computer and did a fresh install of Mq2, Deleted my Eq1 UI folder and had it redownload the UI stuff. Everyone crashed again but the druid no clue why lol

Yeah, good point. But even with a blank setup - no .ini files of any sort, it will crash on his BST. KA7 tries to write its initial .ini files and crashes. No prob on the lvl 1.

Plus I can't replicate the crash on my PC, using the exact same settings/character.

New things I tried: Removing all plugins from the Macroquest2.ini file other than mq2hud=mq2hud and also removing the files themselves from the Macroquest folder. Still crashed.. I also tried running Eq1 and MQ2 in windows 7 and Windows XP compatibility modes. Still Crashed. Still crashing even on a fresh install of MQ2 without any of my scripts or character information. I also downloaded and installed every windows 8 64bit update (1 gig worth) microsoft had other than the security ones. Im still crashing.. Grr

The crash doesn't appear to be related to KA7 or MQ2's settings, since I can't reproduce the error on my machine, and you can't pinpoint it on yours. We'll run some win8 tests this weekend (since nobody else on this forum appears to use win8) but it's looking more and more like a PC-specific problem.

I just wanted to tell you guys since the new compile that was released after the heroic character patch I have yet to crash /knock on wood. I have played for a few days now, restarted my computer about 6 times, and played about 5 hours. Ill let you know if anything happens though and enjoy the double exp this week guys.

Just logged in to poke around the forums.. Haven't played EQ in a long while but probably going to come back now to create some free heroic toons on my 7 accounts and get AAs for my alts...

It always blows me away the amount of time and effort you guys put in to make this work. Maskoi and Redbot are good dudes and their dedication to this project and to helping other folks make it work is unmatched by anyone else in the MQ2 community.
